When is the best moment for maintenance - pegase - 07-08-2005 Here is the current status of my A380 ircraft Name: Airbus A380-800 AFR Aircraft Type: Multi Engine Jet (MEJ) Total flight hours: 21h59 Aircraft actual state: 99% 25 hours maintenance: next in 15 hours 100 hours maintenance: next in 90 hours Actual repair cost: $11,309 Should I wait for the 25 h maintenance, or should I repair as soon as the state is not at 100% I did not find how to get more precision about what must be repaired. Is there relation between this aircraft state and the probability of failure ? Re: When is the best moment for maintenance - Ryanamur - 07-08-2005 It depends how you want to fly. If you are not at 100%, you increase your chances of failure in flight. FsP will let you fly the aircraft below 100% provided that no aircraft system is damaged. In other word... only from flight wear and tear (the 1% of damage you take every flight). When you have an aircraft system damaged, you won't have a choice but to fix it before you can fly that aircraft again. If you decide to not fix it and fly another aircraft, the damage aircraft will NOT generate an income for the fleet bonus. Phil Re: When is the best moment for maintenance - pegase - 07-08-2005 Thanks Phil. This time I choosed to leave Noumea "like this" then, (when everything go well) the Auckland maintenance company will have 2% to care on my Airbus. Friendly Pierre Re: When is the best moment for maintenance - toka-ito - 07-08-2005 with one of my aircraft the 25h service was overdue 2h. After a flight i selected "Repair all aircraft" from the menu. Ok, no surprise, all aircraft actually went to 100%. So far so good, but is it intended that the also the counter for the 100h service resetted? kind regards Andy Re: When is the best moment for maintenance - pegase - 09-08-2005 Quote:So far so good, but is it intended that the also the counter for the 100h service resetted? I choose finally to do the following as it is the way I simply do about my car. When there is some reparation declared as necessary I do it ASAP. I do the time scheduled maintenances when my next flight will send me over the time. I think the 25 hours and 100 hours are totally independant and the 25 hours maintenance don't or should not reset the 100 hous maintenance because the 100 hours checkup things which are not checked in the 25 hours. But logically each 100 hours check up should cover an then reset the 25 hours counter. Re: When is the best moment for maintenance - DanSteph - 09-08-2005 bug noted on my logbook, I'll work on it for the update. Thanks for reporting Dan |
