DF727 Engine #2 Failure? - Erin Rakickas - 09-06-2007 While flying the DF727-200 Super for the first time (I have tons of flights in the DF727-200 and DF727-100, neither has this problem) I started seeing the following problem, and I'm not sure if FSPax may be causing it. While taking off, I noticed that the #2 engine was running much faster than the others. While #1 and #3 were at EPR 1.96, #2 was at EPR 2.25. Once airborne, I manually reduced the power on #1 and #3 to 68% throttle, and #2 had to be set at 58% in order to get the same EPR, N1, etc readings. I'm not sure if I did something wrong. I followed the full checklist, no anti-ice, bleed air for #2 is off (seems to make no difference). It appears that other aircraft (727-200 Super, unpurchased livery) are having a similar problem. After takeoff, I did have an explosive decompression, declared a mayday, and returned to the airport. Upon reparing the aircraft, there was no indication that the engine needed repair. Has anybody else seen this problem? Could this be caused by FSPax? Wouldn't it show up as a repairable item? Thanks -- Erin Rakickas Re: DF727 Engine #2 Failure? - Erin Rakickas - 09-06-2007 When all else fails, read the charts. The performance data for the 727-200 Super is different than the 727-200. The #2 engine is supposed to be that much higher than #1 Well, I feel silly. ![]() -- Erin Re: DF727 Engine #2 Failure? - Canada_Boy - 09-06-2007 Well...
