[SOLVED] AA turns off when Mini Report is active - philbrown - 01-06-2007
As the title sugest really. When the mini report is displayed on screen, anti aliasing turns off and everything becomes
blocky. Hiding the
mini report restores AA and everything becomes smooth again.
This happens in both windowed and full screen mode.
System set up:
Intel Quad core Extreme (QX6700)
Asus Commando Motherboard
Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX
2GB Corsair DDR2-800 RAM
Windows Vista Home Premium

This sound just like what I've been going through. Whan I start FSP if fs in full screen the window goes black. So I have to start FSP in
windows mode and then put fs9 back to full screen. It's at this point that the AA is turned off and every thing looks all blocky. Only FS does
not smoothen out untill I shut FSP down.

Black screens are mostly caused by bad drivers... If you disable AA, do you also get a black screen???

I get the black screen when ever I hit the alt in FS9. It does not matter whether have the AA on or not. Whoever FSX runs just fine with no
problems at all. I also tired hiding the mini report and every thing smoothened right out. Go figure.

Forgot to mention I am using FS9 (2004)... Yesterday reinstalled my video drives, without any succes. Is it true that FSPassengers does
not support AA at all?

Ummm, are you using anything like Nhancer? That will take care of any AA issues you may have. As far as my experience goes with FsP,
it does not take AA out of the sim. FS9 is notorious for not dealing with AA effectively at all.

I've tried NHancer and it has made no differenc at all. the only thing that I've found that works is closing the mini report window.

When you are on the 'create a flight' screen, the plane on the lower of screen, do you see the plane, or just a black block?

Try setting your windows display config to use 16 bit colors instead of 32 and chances are the largest part of the mentioned problems are
solved.

Well, played around with NHancer this weekend, unfortunately no results... Tracker801, What do you mean with using 16 bits colors. In FS
or in Windows?

Have tried 16 bit colors in FS2004, no result. I notice that when I press ALT in order to go to the menu FS AA is also disabled. Is this
normal behaviour?
