Fs Passengers runs more slowly than FS2004 (not mini rep bug) - Wing Commander Bader - 13-02-2007
Hi. I've found that when I'm using Fs passengers, the performance isn't as good as in FS2004 in normal mode. I don't think it is caused by the mini
report (my graphics card is 6600GT 128mb). Is there anything else that could be causing this?

This could be because of many reasons, such as your overall system specs (considering FSP doesn't use any graphics intesnsive programming, so
it shouldn't have anything to do with your graphics card
) If you don't know your system, you can go start -> run -> "DXDIAG"Secondly, you might have a lot of programs running in the background that you're not using. Go ctrl + alt + del to bring up the task manager, go to
the processes tab, and in the bottom left corner will say how many processes you're running and how much CPU power and memory you're using up.
If you are running too many, I won't advise you on what to turn off, since the results can be quite devestating
But running a Virus and Spywarescan might get rid of a few nasties

I've got about 37 processes running. Is that too much? I used to have 52!!

I dont think thats is much, I have 64 processes running at the moment.

Use filemon.exe, run it for a few minutes during fs9 and see if it shows you any errors. Great tool for solving problems in fs9

I have the same problem. When I start FS2004, make a flight in the flightplanner and start the flight, I have very nice graphics, no
stutterings when turning the aircraft. When I start FS Passengers the nice graphics are gone. When turning the aircraft the display is
stuttering and anti aliasing seems not to work anymore. (Turned it on)
Problem is only with the mini report in display. When I close the mini report, problem is gone.....
It's not my hardware:
Mobo: Gigabyte 965P-DS4
Processor: IE6600 Core 2 Duo @ 3,5 GHZ
Memory: Kingston HyperX 2x 1GB @ 780 MHZ
Graph: XFX Geforce 8800 GTX XXX
Harddisk: WD250 GB 2x Raid0
Windows XP and FS2004 up to date
Everything runs on maximum performance so it's really a bug in FS Passengers.

Try a different AA setting, usually 4x works fine, if not, try 2x or 8x

I tried all AA settings, hardware and software method but did not help. Everytime I display the mini report, the problem is back

Just for testing, disable AA on your card and enable it in fs9, see if it makes a difference. Nvidia is known for changing the behaviour of AA in
every gd release of drivers they release...

Also not working. For me (and maybe others also) it seems the only way to play with FsPassengers is play wthout mini report in screen.
How long does it gonna take until a version for FSX?
