Damage & Failures - ello - 24-04-2005

If I damage a part of the plane somehow, like having a bad landing, will the whole plane be more likely to have a failure or just that part?
So, for example, if I was to have a hard landing and damage the gear, would the gear alone be more likely to fail or will the whole plane
go from 100% damage to, like, 95% damage and then any part of the plane is more likely to fail? I know you can't fix individual parts so I
was just wondering how damage and failures are worked out.

Thanks in advance!
Nick

There are two things to distinct :

Some parts may fail because of your bad flight handling, like flaps can be damaged if you excess restriction speeds.

But in the maintenance aircraft status window, in the Company Manager, you won't see which aircraft part is damaged, you just see a lower percentage status and the amount of money required to repair your aircraft to 100%.

Past products with such details in the aircrafts damage didn't meet a lot of success. Almost everything can be done in FS, but sometimes
developers have to decide what can be done in the time given and how much simmers will appreciate the things they're doing. If there's
too much time needed for a low interest feature, you guess it's not a good thing to spend time at it. It's my personal opinion, maybe Dan
thinks a bit different, but he may not be too far :D
