FsPassengers.dll failing to load - s0cks - 16-08-2006
Well I have searched this problem on the forum and nothing has helped
I have recently re-installed Windows XP. I installed FS9, and it worked. I installed Project AI and it worked. I then installed FSP and it didn't
work. Unable to load fspassengers.dll and the can't open library WININET.DLL. If I rename fspassengers.dll to fspassengers.dll.old then FS9 loads fne.
From what I have been able to find out people have resolved this by replacing the dll.
I have downloaded the lastest version and still no luck.
If someone could send (email) me their dll from a working copy on WinXP SP2 that would be great!

Even IF this is actually legal it would'nt do you any good to have my fspassengers.dll, as I'm using the latest version which you have already tried.
I don't have any problems with it though. Unless anybody have an idea, I suggest you try to contact Dan himself.

I have the same problem. I got some advice to reinstall the OS but I haven't done that yet; if you say you've tried that and it hasn't fixed the
problem, I'm not sure if that will work for me either.
If you find an answer, I'd be greatful for any direction you can provide. I miss my FSP!

I really don't want to have to re-install the OS again! It used to work fine before I re-installed
I will try some stuff tonight and let you know. But again, if anyone could send me a copy of fspassengers.dll that they KNOW works just so I can
double check that would be great.

Oh my god! I don't believe it!
For some unknown reason my fs9.exe file was running in compatibility mode set to Windows 98/ME!!!!! I turned it off and hey presto!!! Grrr. How
aggrivating. I hope this helps you fredneck, I've also found that running it in compatibility mode set to Windows 2000 can help.

Well, I'm not sure if this would have helped me. I just did a reinstall / repair of WinXP and just before I reinstalled FSP I checked the forum
for any news. I changed the compatibility as well, it was set to Windows 2000. I unchecked the box completely.
I just reinstalled FSP and put in my lock code and all seems to be working. I just need to reload my database and hopefully it'll work.
Cross your fingers...
A summary for other users:
A. I got errors when I tried to run FS2004 with FSP installed. FSP and FS2004 ran great for a while - something started to corrupt the DLL
files, I guess.
Error 1: "Unable to load fspassengers.dll"
Error 2: "Can't open library WININET.DLL."
B. I tried to uninstall FSP and reinstall and nothing.
C. I tried to do a System restore, failed every time.
D. I installed FSP on another computer and tried to copy the FSPassenger.DLL to the main computer to see if it was a bad DLL. The error
still appeared.
E. When the FSPassengers.DLL was not present in the folder or FSP was totally uninstalled, FS2004 runs great.
F. I had been experiencing weird Windows XP things like icons moving at each startup, slow performance etc.
G. I bit the bullet and tried a repair of XP. It failed because it couldnt find all of the files. I did a fresh reinstall NEXT to the first install but
didn't need it. The Repair actually booted and I did a sfc/scannow in the CMD prompt and it fournd all of the files it needed.
H. I loaded windows and tested several programs including FS and all worked great.
I. I then installed FSP and loaded the key code and it seems to be working....

Can anyone help with the same issue. I have installed FSP and when I start FSX, it does not load. it comes the startup screen for FSX and then just sits
over there forever.
I have to remove FSP and then FSX works fine. anyone have the same issue. I am running windows 7 Home premium
