Engine failure on takeoff - Kenny - 04-05-2006 Yesterday morning I was taking off out of Key West Florida and was about two minutes out when FSP stated I had a engine failure. At the same time my master warning came on. I reported the failure. eventually totaled my A/C. I looked at my fllght report and it stated that I had the failure pror to take-off and should have aborted.??? If there is a major malfunction on engines I would think my Master warning would have picked it up before takeoff. I also did a 40% runup prior to takeoff to assure everything was all right. At lift off my engines were O.K. I thought. Flying in FSP custom 5% failure rate. CitationX Please comment. FSP is excellent and makes flying in 2004 a great adventure. . Re: Engine failure on takeoff - Dutch64 - 04-05-2006 Most likely during spool up the failure occured. It can manifest itself sometimes by a slight difference of power (like 1 or 2 % less power). It's sometimes hard to notice ![]() Re: Engine failure on takeoff - eazy - 04-05-2006 An engine failure caused by FSP usually starts with rising oil temperature (and maybe low oil pressure) for that engine. So if you watch your instruments closely before take-off you might notice it. Or not ![]() |
