I need to edit the database - Jetflyer - 07-04-2006 Hi Dan, or anyone else who knows how, I'd like to edit the database to get rid of failures I've decided, because I'm flying for Delta Virtual Airlines and just had an engine failrue and crashed, these things are happening too often, Dan, can I send you my database and is there something you can do to get rid of the failures for me? Also I used to thin falures were fun etc.. and novelty but that's worn off now there just boring, I want to fly to get somewhere and for fun, without diruptions and nonsense. 97.6% of real airline pilots will never encounter a failure anyway in their career, I've already had about 25, so please can you disable them. Post Edited ( 04-07-06 22:54 ) Re: I need to edit the database - Jetflyer - 07-04-2006 Pretty exact. But really that isn't the point. For all the failrues I've coped with so far it's enough to last about 500 real life pilot's careers, if you consider the number of failures in the flight hours. But drew you understand that when flying for a virtual airline, you can't have things like this happeneing relly, and ive hd more than my fair share of failures, plus other people have had their database modded for stuff too, and I can't open the database.dll files, so can Dan do this? Re: I need to edit the database - Drew - 07-04-2006 alt > fsp > fsp setup > difficulty > failure setting >>> change to zero = no more failures Re: I need to edit the database - Drew - 07-04-2006 by the way, not sure if anyone will be willing to wipe off your crash from your database. Re: I need to edit the database - DBE - 07-04-2006 Besides, aren't you taking this too seriously? T'is only a game.. Why not simply start a new company with all failures off? Quite honestly, I'd rather see Dan working on other "things" (besides playing with his kids or spending quality time with his wife) than "fixing" peeps databases Re: I need to edit the database - Jetflyer - 07-04-2006 Yeah, I know its a generally disproved thing to "cheat" the databaase, but really, if you saw how many failures I've had! It's also mainly because of having the virtual airline as well. I have a set company with 1500 hours but once its set, no failure change can be made, unfortunatly, being why the database change is required. Not meaning to sound impatient, but shouldn't take much time for the option of failures to be edited would it? Re: I need to edit the database - 1rescue - 07-04-2006 Quote:Drew wrote: Hello, this depends on a lot of things. Like what aircraft the company fly, how old the fleet is, how good the service on the aircrafts etc. Its not possible to say for sure how much percent failure a airline pilot will have in hes/hers career. To use a teaspoon, its like comparing two companies, one have a fleet of brand new airbus machines, the other one has kinda old almost outfased aircrafts. So the percentage of failure will be larger there .. :D If you are intererested in airline safety, this could be a nice place to go: (dont kill me if link has been posted earlier) http://www.airlinesafety.com/ and what goes for editing the database, some VA's use FP to rate their pilot, and editing and removing crash so your stats looks cool would be .. ehh ..ehrm .. like cheating .. 1rescue Re: I need to edit the database - Jetflyer - 08-04-2006 I don't want to remove the crash just turn off failures for the future. I think I've already proved that I can deal with the majority of them already! After the failures II've had, turning failures off now is hardly cheating, don't forget there's the option to not have them in the first place. I did have them first cause of the novelty, now its worn off about 8 months later. Re: I need to edit the database - the_nick - 08-04-2006 this is the perfect solution ; 1 :do regulary the maintance of your aircraft ![]() 2: don't buy old junk from god who know's where ![]() this is how I do it , it will cost you more but you can keep your safety record at 100% ![]() Re: I need to edit the database - FsP Dennis - 08-04-2006 Quote:the_nick wrote:What about birdstrike ?? they just fly into your engine ![]() ![]() Re: I need to edit the database - Jetflyer - 08-04-2006 Yeah this was a birdstrike, and all my planes are 100% maintained all the time. I have £1,300,000,000 so money isn't an issue. |
