Fuel Problem - Capt. Wotan - 19-03-2006

Not sure if this has been covered before, i know i've been here long enough to search the forums and look in the FAQ but i couldn't find the exact
problem.

Basically i am the proud owner of a BAe Avroliner which has three tanks, the center tank being the smallest. On a recent flight from Jersey to
Prestwick i got a -300 penelty for not having a reserve. I thought that this was a little unfair considering that only the center tank was low, the
others had plenty of fuel. Does FSP look at each tank or the total fuel available? If it is looking at each tank then my lovely Avroliner is stuck
flying only as far as the center tank can take it, roughly half the distance the large left and right tanks have????????

I had a problem with the PMDG 747 where from taxi to takeoff I went through 20% of my fuel!, that just dosen't make sense at add up!

It's not quite the same thing, i don't have any problems with the consumption, i was just wondering how FSP calculates fuel remaining?

total i would say

many times in the citation ive taken off with no fuel at all in the centre tank, and never got any penalty

That's actually not a bad test, i'm going to fill left and right tanks leaving the center one dry and fly to Oslo. If i get a penalty we'll all know...

You were right, i went from Prestwick to Oslo on a completly dry middle tank and the program didn't give me the penelty, it must be the total fuel. I
was concentrating so hard on the fuel test i forgot the landing lights and got a penelty for that instead!!! Smile
