FS9 unable to load FsPassengers.dll - Printable Version

FS9 unable to load FsPassengers.dll - n_oikonomidis - 10-03-2006

Hi all,

I get a window saying "Error FS9 - Flight Simulator was unable to load some aircraft or software. You can continue using Flight Simulator
but this aircraft of software will be disabled. File:FsPassengers.dll" directly after I unistalled a gamepad that had a conflict with my
Sidewinder FFB-2 joystick. Before the unistallment everything has been working perfectly.

I unistalled FSPassengers, rebooted, installed but the problem remains. Searched in the forums but couldn't find any solution. Any help
much appreciated.

After trying lots of re-installations and clean installations, the problem still continues Hunappy. The funny thing is that fspassengers works
perfectly when i run FS in protected mode Huh

Can the support team help me out with this please?

Difficult one, after you removed fspassengers, can you check your modules folder whether also fspassengers.dll has been removed?
Another thing you can try after that is to rename your fs9.cfg to fs9.old (make sure fs9 is not running) and then start up fs9. It will rebuild then a
clean fs9.cfg. It will make it easier to find where the problem is...
After removing fsp and before your reinstall, please reboot your pc!! xp keeps some files locked eventhough there don't seem to be in use.

Affirmative, fspassengers.dll has been removed.

Still no joy Cry I also did a clean install of FS with no other add-ons installed except from FSPassengers. Didn't work either Sad

Ok, let's concentrate on this message for a while "Error FS9 - Flight Simulator was unable to load some aircraft or software".
Reading what you posted above i can think of two other reasons.
1. You have fs set up to load the last flight saved or set as default flight a flight which uses a plane which you don't have installed anymore
2. Your registry got corrupted. As a last resort, did you try a fresh install of fs9?

I always start FS with the default flight.

I did! Fresh install FS, rebooted, fresh install FSPassengers. Same problem Hunappy

As already said, this problem appeared right after I unistalled a Gamepad from my system (DirectX related problem maybe?) That
means, I run FS, everything was ok, I quit FS, I unistalled the Gamepad, I run FS and got this message. Does FSPassengers need any
standard libraries (MFC, etc.) to run that may be corrupted? Finally, a weird situation is that when I start WinXP in protected mode and run
FS, everything is ok and FSPassengers runs smoothly Well

Dont know if this is info is helpful; I run the german FS version on german WinXP. Regarding the corrupted registry, the only thing I could
think of is that the enumeration of the HIDs / Joysticks may have been corrupted in the registry. Is there any remote relationship to this
registry entry on behalf of FSPassengers? (However, I reinstalled the mentioned gamepad and all joysticks that I use work correct, so I
guess the registry is not harmed.)

If both fs and fsp have been clean installed and still same problems then the os or its drivers indeed.... Do a search in your registry for any left
overs of the gamepad. Use a tool to check whether your registry is clean and not corrupted.
I'm afraid if all that doesn't help then a reinstall of your os is the only option...

I did an OS reinstall as you suggested and it works again as expected Top

I got this message also, but after I click OK, I get another error box with the message, "WININET.DLL - Can't Load Library".

Does this sound like the same problem and would an OS reinstall help?
