Pilot(s) weight(s) - Mischa - 29-07-2005

Dan,

do you think it is possible to integrate a separate input for the position(s) and the weight(s) of the pilot(s) ? As I understood FSP resets all
station points in the memory with a zero weight and then insert the weights from payload screen to the configured station points of the
payload model. Looking at the ZFW I only see the total weight of the passengers and cargo but not the weight of the pilot(s). This isn't
important for airliners but has influence to smaller GA aircrafts. Or do I have to configure them as a separate position with the "no price"
option?

Thanks
Michael

That's actually a good question. How does FSP take care of the pilot and flight crew. I know in a cessna this could make a difference
depending on how it's set especially seeing as I'm only 110lbs. that could change things alot. My guess is this was something Dan had
looked at but would eat up more development time so he went with averages. Would it be possible in future versions to be able to
change these values for a little bit more realism??

The best way to be sure the pilot's weight is included is just to edit the aircraft.cfg file before you buy it in FSP, and just increase the minimum
weight of the aircraft.

The pilot's weight should be in the passengers area in a Cessna but it isn't there when I see the payload screen. Only the weights of the
passengers. I don't want to have to modify the aircraft configuration file because I'll probably end up breaking something 'cause I'm good
at that even when I try not to be. Shouldn't the pilot's weight be part of our pilot's profile?

Maybe a possible approach to overwrite only station 1 - 6 in the memory and let station 0 (pilot) as it is configured in the aircraft.cfg. Much
better would be the option to configure pilots weight in the payload editor itself Applause

This would allow everybody to configure the weight of the pilot and then use it until he wants to change it again. Loading a six-seat
aircraft with 5 passengers and a lot of baggage is easy but adding the pilot will give you the challenge of flying a (nearly) overloaded
aircraft with all the risks and restrictions. This often leads to maledictions from the pilot Worry and panic attacs by the passengers Sunk
