Frequent lock-up and then immediate "cancelled FSP flight" notice - sgtdirtybum - 31-01-2006

Hey all,

I am also a fairly new simpilot to FSP and I have just recently had some major issues with my flights. After a long flight (over 1 hr) I notice that
all the sudden my system locks up if I happen to hit ALT button and then when i try to get back to the action..... nothing happens... then about 1
min later... I receive a notice "FSPassengers flight cancelled"...?? I am not clicking ESC or anything else.... so I'm not sure what the deal is...
can someone help?

Thanks
SDB

I don't think it's fsp related, most likely fsp will 'notice' somehow that your sim stopped/crashed/halted, and so it will
stop too.
Does your fs also give troubles after some time without fsp running? Might be some conflicting dll somewhere too. Do you have
any addons wich respond
to the ALT key? (older version of Walk and Follow for example had this trouble)

Dutch64,

Actually, when flying without FSP (although I hate to do this! Smile I have not had any of these issues. The only other add-on that I have is Ultimate
Terrain and it does not respond or activate with the ALT key. There is only one thing that I have just thought of that could possibly be causing an
issue and I'll try it tonight to see if I can fix my own problem, but it's a Window's autoscreen saver.... I find that on long flights... I set the
AP and take a long break away from the cpu... (I know this probably couldn't be done by a REAL pilot in flight, but the real world equivalent of
possibly getting your ass kicked by your wife for not helping with the baby probably doesn't happen either during REAL flight... lol) Anyways... my
screen save does not seem to come on bc my FS is stll on the screen when I come back, but maybe it is actually running in the background which may
cause the problem... I'll ck... until then.... thanks Dutch64

That might be it very well indeed. Talking about that, i have some antivir proggy which updates sometimes several times a day and fs9 is not amused by
that either when that happens when fs is claiming the pcSmile Let us know how things go please.

roger that....... I also have some AVG updates that do not amuse FS as you most eloquently noted above.... I will try shutting all this down....
along with a my zonealarm that also may have something to do with this as well... (ie... when weather updates 15 min via internet... ZA is usually
monitoring and allowing this as well.... ) I'll give it a shot and post my results!!!

Gracias.....

I have seen this issue being mentioned on another forum, in the end I think they deleted their fs9.cfg and let FS build itself a new one
from scratch and that fixed the problem.. maybe an idea for ya ?

that may also be my next move.... if all my CPU washing doesnt do the trick....
