Suggestion: Touchdown - bomen168 - 21-01-2006

Instead of "Please stay seated until the aircraft has come to a complete stop." I would suggest to replace the one where you set the
parking brake at the gate and connect it with the "seated until stop" announcement.

Usually when you touchdown and slow, you don't hear: "Please stay seated until the aircraft has come to a complete stop."

But you hear this when you touchdown and the plane slows and flaps are coming up (of course substitute the announcement with some
things that vary IE: destination) :::

"Ladies and Gentlemen, we have arrived at our destination. Please give the captain a few moments to taxi us to the gate, and we ask that
you remain seated with your seatbelts fastened until the aircraft has come to a complete stop and the seatbelt sign has been turned off. If
you are on a connecting flight, blahblahblah shuttles blahblah. Once again we thank you for flying with us today (or "tonight" if it is
nighttime) and we hope that you choose us again."

then when the SeatBelt sign goes off when the PB is set, then it will say:

"Ladies and Gentlemen, we have arrived at the gate. You may now take off your seatbelts and the use of cellular phones is now
permitted." Or something like that.

Then when the door opens, keep the current announcement.

yes, I agree. That would be alot more realistic. Maybe Dan will put something like that in on the next update, or if you can't wait you could try make
it yourself.

Perfect idea! More realistic! I love it! I wonder if that will be in the next update...

I like it. Smile Those crazy pax may try to jump up if you have to hold on the taxiway on the way to the gate!

Heh... I put on the parkingbreak on the runway a few days ago Wink

But this was because I had a problem with the gear, it wouldn't come up and I could not steer once I landed so I hit my parkingbreak and let me pax exit... But I would not do that in any other situation

Hopefully you weren't movinglol but realisticlly if you applyed parking brakes right after you landed when you were still going say 150
knots wouldn't you skid off the runway, roll over, explode ect.?

some times in cessnas, im taxing prob a lot faster than i should
be and when i apply brakes to stop at a taxi way i end up with plane on nose/wing with one wheel in air

Re: Suggestion: Touchdown - sgtdirtybum - 02-02-2006

Yeah..... I've also noticed that by applying the PB before you arrive at a gate or you are off a taxi-way, it simulates an emergency exit.... then
you get points deducted.... whoops!! Fool
