Problem with PMDG 737-700 (demo) - bernbear - 05-01-2006

Hi

I'm just trying out the demo of FsP and am jut about ready to buy. However, I have a small problem with the PMDG 737-700. When I first atarted a
flight with the 737-700 Winglets (SWA livery), I got a message that FsP needs to prepare the airplane for use, which I acknowledged, reloaded the
plane as instructed and as was well.

After that I loaded the non-winglet version of the PMDG 737-700, (also SWA) got the same message, again aknowledged it, then got a black screen with a lot of disk thrashing going on and eventually got a CTD. Several further attempts yielded the same result.

I then proceeded to just copy the three stations that FsP had added to the aircraft.cfg of then Winglets version to the non-winglets version. All
seems to be well now, so am I correct in assuming that adding those stations was all that's needed? (just rying to make sure that's all that's need, I know I previously posted a reply to someone having a similar issue)

I am guessing that the problem was due to the fact that I have lots of liveries for the 737-700 without winglets installed and therefore that
particular aircraft.cfg is rather large and FsP might have a problem with it.

Hmmm......Not ever had that happen with any of the PMDG planes.....Did you give everything a chance to settle down after the plane loaded?
PMDG loads all the AIRAC files and such everytime you change from one livery to another.
Unless this is something with the demo?

The problem with the crash is that the cfg is too big for FsP to handle. You need to manually edit the aircraft.cfg to make the appropiate changes to
the winglet version.

I had this problem with all the PMDG planes because I added all liveries for all the planes before I loaded them in FsP Smile

Whats the mod to the .cfg?

You need to add the weight stations...

This is from my 737-700 winglest cfg

station_load.0=23000.000, -48.350, 0.000, 1.050
station_load.1=0,0,0,0
station_load.2=0,0,0,0
station_load.3=0,0,0,0
station_load.4=0,0,0,0
station_load.5=0,0,0,0
station_load.6=0,0,0,0

Find your station_load and add as many you need to reach six.

so if you got station_load.4 you just need to add 5 and six

I'll be darned....I never touched the file but thats' what mine says....I use Coxover's load mngr file, I wonder if that modified it or if
FSP?......Weird!

Re: Problem with PMDG 737-700 (demo) - Nasder - 05-01-2006

As I said, your complete CFG might be smaller than mine when it comes to information in it regarding liveries so FsP/FS9 could handle to open and
write it...

I never tried though in the 737-700W but it failed with the regular 700... and I changed the rest by hand when I was at it, it was just cut and paste
and would probably save me time in the future Smile

Re: Problem with PMDG 737-700 (demo) - CODY614 - 05-01-2006

flightsim.51 is what shows for the 737-700..no winglets....
Well, If it starts happening I'll know where to look.....

My regular 737-700 wich fails shows [fltsim.128] as the last one Smile

Hi all,

Thanks for the quick replies. I've bought FsP in the meantime so I can fly from my home turf (usually LFSB, LSZH and LSGG for commercial jets and LSZB
for the smaller a/c)

Just FYI, tthe non-winglets version of the 700 which I had to edit manually goes up to [fltsim.59] while the winglets version that was modified
automatically goes to [fltsim.29]

Isn't amazing how much you many times the price of fs you can spend for addons over time? Soi far I have Flight 1 Meridian, FS Seneca V, FSD Cheyenne
400LS, Eaglesoft Citation CJ1, PMDG 737 6/7/8/900, PSS Airbus A340, PMDG 747-400, ActiveSky 6, FS Realtime, FS2Crew, Flight 1 Ultimate Traffic with
latest schedule update, FSBuild 2.2, FSNavigator 4.7, FSUIPC registered, most FS Genesis high resolution meshes, planned purchases are Radar Contact
4, PMDG 747-400F, PMDG MD-11 (in fact any commercial jet that PMDG will do in the future)
(ot-mode off)
