FsP & RealCRT Gauges Issues - tiger1962 - 02-01-2006 Hello everyone, I've just got FsP installed and I'm loving it! I'm using FS2004 on XP SP2, the plane I'm flying is the freeware 737 Experience with Tony Ambrosio's RealCRT gauges and Navigation Data program (the FMC with these gauges gives you an Engage Auto- Land option on final approach - is that cheating?). Now, these gauges use A LOT of keyboard commands and most of them conflict with FsP's, so if any other FsP fan is using them, or thinking of getting them, here's how I've got round it so far: Un-associate the keyboard commands for ALL the "Input number by keyboard" commands - drastic but easier than re-associating them, these keys will also override the FS9 GPS if you try to enter an airport ICAO code, for example. Then change the following commands to these keys: Call a mayday - Ctrl+Shift+E (for Emergency) Play/stop next music - Ctrl+Shift+Q (for Queue next track) Display passengers list - Ctrl+Shift+X (for X-Files - couldn't think of anything else!) Serve Drinks - Ctrl+Shift+T (for Tea - you guessed it, I'm British) Show/hide the mini display - Ctrl+Shift+S (for Show) One I have yet to test is "Stop the current announcement" which uses the Spacebar - I'm going to try Tab for that (I haven't needed to stop an announcement yet) but this one conflicts with the FS9 View command "Eyepoint - Reset" so I might simply un-associate it. And finally, maybe someone could help me? Since I installed FsP, my "Esc" key has stopped working - it's the FS9 "End Flight" command and it did this once before a while back when I was testing my own design 2D cockpit for the above mentioned 737 Experience aircraft (I couldn't find one which matched the VC one so I've made my own) and the problem was with two FS98 sound gauges: Boeing Callout gauge and Trim Sound gauge were not installed properly, though they DID work, they stopped the "Esc" key from working! I removed them with regret, but I notice the Callout sounds are included with FsP - could these be causing this problem to reappear? I would rather not remove them (in fact I'd like to add the Trim sound as well) so if anyone has any ideas please let me know. Re: FsP & RealCRT Gauges Issues - tiger1962 - 02-01-2006 Update to this item: I have re-assigned the "Show/hide the mini display" to Ctrl+Shift+M because Ctrl+Shift+S is the FS9 "View - Look Down" command! It's listed as Shift+NP5 though... I have unchecked "Antialiasing" in the FS9 Display Settings (and my graphic card settings) and now the mini display appears with no side-effects, I also removed the "Stop current announcement" key command and suddenly the "Esc" key now works both in and out of FsP. I honestly don't know which of these 'solutions' cured it but there you go. Re: FsP & RealCRT Gauges Issues - Dutch64 - 02-01-2006 Thanks for the update of the post and welcome here of course ![]() |
