Problem with A320 - James - 25-11-2005 When I depart, especially when heavy on weight, I often get a tailstrike yet the tail of my aircraft isn't even anywhere near touching the ground. I remember there being an issue with the Kittyhawk 737-200, in that even when the tail didn't touch the ground it would still show as a tailstrike and raise the passenger's fear. It seems theres a similar issue with the iFDG A320. Below is an example of what I'm referring to: ![]() ![]() As you can see, the tail is nowhere near touching the ground, yet it has come up as a tailstrike which has raised the passenger fear level. I would appreciate if this could be fixed somehow in either a future update or a possible quick fix without putting it in an update. And has anyone else had this issue? Cheers, James Re: Problem with A320 - samiranks - 25-11-2005 it could just be the model of the aircraft is wrong or dimensions. now this is probably the problem not sure though. Also does it only happen at this airport? if so it could be "are you using the default afcad?" Re: Problem with A320 - Dutch64 - 25-11-2005 I'm not sure but i think a tail strike is registered when take off is more than 11 degrees. Dan correct me please if this is wrong... Re: Problem with A320 - samiranks - 25-11-2005 no think it actually have to hit to have that happen. so its actual contact with runway now remember if afcad is not based on correct elevation it could cause tail strike due to fs9 based on correct info. Correct me guys if something is missing or wrong Re: Problem with A320 - James - 26-11-2005 I guarantee there is nothing wrong with the Shannon AFCAD, it has never been edited and is the default Microsoft FS AFCAD file. So this IMO is obviously a similar issue to what happened with the Kittyhawk 732 in that it had tailstrikes but never even hit the ground. Re: Problem with A320 - samiranks - 26-11-2005 try downloading another ifdg airbus and see if it does the same thing because it could just be the plane Re: Problem with A320 - Jetflyer - 26-11-2005 Dude it is the CONTACT points are off in the Aircraft.cfg. Re: Problem with A320 - Jetsgo - 26-11-2005 Hey, it's an Airbus... what do you expect? ![]() Re: Problem with A320 - olseric - 26-11-2005 I use the iFDG A320 and have NEVER had a tailstrike with it. What is Vr speed on that screenshot and what is the flap setting? Flaps look like 1+F if I'm correct. Re: Problem with A320 - James - 26-11-2005 Flaps are in position 2 and my V speed was between 120 and 130 as I was quite light for takeoff. Re: Problem with A320 - Propilot23k - 27-11-2005 well ill add that, there is a update to the IFDG airbus series. Service pack 1.4 I do beleive? Do you have this installed? Re: Problem with A320 - SE-TMA - 27-11-2005 I never get a tailstrike on my Concorde, and initial pitch rotation is 18 degrees on Concorde... Re: Problem with A320 - Blicka13 - 30-11-2005 I've noticed this as well, I have flown in and out of many different airports with both add-on and default AFCAD, and I have had a few tailstrikes being registered even though the tail has not actually hit the ground. Also had this happen once on landing. |
