Airspeed Indicator to Zero? - Becks - 13-11-2005

Lastnight I did a flight from Denver, Colorado to Chicago, IL (or tried to). I noticed that after I got airborne, my airspeed indicator said 000 and
the needle was on zero as well. I thought this was a minor emergency but the co-pilot didnt say anything. Anyways I declared an emergency and landed
and got penalized for declaring a false emergency. I just shrugged it off because I thought this was a bug because it was a freeware plane.

This morning I did a flight in the default in the 737 and I still had the same problem. Not blaming this on FSPassengers because airspeed indicators
worked well before for months of owning this add-on. I was wondering if anyone has this problem or knows why it is happening?

what was the temp ?
maybe pitot heat off , just a guess tho.

added : to be sure load the default FS flight to check , if you saved the flight and load other plane the pitot can still be broken .

It happened to my about 2 weeks ago on a specific plane (and only that plane), while on accelerated time. Don't know why... Didn't come
back.

My Eaglesoft Cessna Citation X often has problems with the speed indicator. It's capable of flying to 520kts so I fly it at 450kts
when at the desired altitude. But when landing (and decreasing acceleration for a smoth landing) the speed indicator is stuck at 450,
when really I have decreased the throttle alot and it should be at about 150kts for landing, and in some cases even used reverse
thrusters just to get the speed down! Try landing a Citation X at 450kts!

Temperature was about two degrees celsius. I'm still having the same problem as well.

When the Temperature is near or below 0* C, put in:

Shift+H
Num+
CTRD+D
Pitot Heat
Anti-Ice

Alittle exessive, but it will fix this problem. The reason it happens is because the Pitot tube freezes over, and wallah, you don't have any
readouts anymore.
