i enjoy flyin the boeing 737, i no that flaps to be set a 5 for takeoff however, fspassenger see flaps at 5 to be wrong, is this a glitch?

Re: FLAPS SET??? - DanSteph - 04-11-2005

5 is just fine, yre you sure they were set ?
take care if you taxy more than 30kts FsP consider you are taking off
and penalise if they are not set.

Re: FLAPS SET??? - Jetflyer - 06-11-2005

On my A300 it is normal to do a slats only takeoff without trailing edge flaps. I get penalised for this. Why?

Re: FLAPS SET??? - SWAFO - 06-11-2005

Keep in mind that most flap issues are due to retracting them below 500FT AGL (like Pagir mentioned). Keep in mind that in the 737
we'll start the initial flap retraction at around 1000' AGL. After this, we'll retract the flaps on schedule until they are up. For example, if
you're performing a flaps 5 takeoff, set flaps 1 at 1000', then flaps up at 190KIAS. This is a good, basic rule of thumb.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I'm happy to help!
