hello give fsp to friend - Eponnox - 21-10-2005

Hi all

I bought fsp and i would like to give it to my bro who lives 200 miles away am i allowed to send him the user and key or is that against the rules

Only Dan could say for sure, but i'm guessing it isn't allowed, i think that comes under copyright infringment

Each registered copy of FsPassengers may be used in only one single location by one user. Use of the software means that you have
loaded the program and run it or have installed the program onto a computer. If you install the software onto a multi-user platform or
network, each and every individual user of the software must be registered separately.

You both require bought and registered versions. Distance does not matter when it comes to the internet and online purchases

The only one allowed to answer this question is Dan. Just ask him by PM. You won't have any answer on the forum about that.

To be honest, it's technically not allowed, however I have it installed on both of my home computers. This topic has been discussed
ad nauseam in the past, and everyone has different views on this. However, if you have the program installed on two PC's, and it's
solely for your use, I wouldn't have a problem with it. It all boils down to an ethical issue as opposed to a legal issue. Some people
might argue that in order to run the program on two PC's, you legally have to have two registered copies of it. On the other hand
though, I don't know anyone that purchased two copies of any program to run them on two seperate PC's that they use specifically for
their own use. Do you?

Re: hello give fsp to friend - Mud - 21-10-2005

It's simple , if you use it for your own like WatchTheGrassGrowSimulation , it's you who bought it so you can play it where ever you want.
If you copy WatchTheGrassSimulation and give it to your friend it's piracy.
And he gives it to his other friend ....... well you get my drift Wink

That's the way I view the issue to, however if I understand it correctly, the way the FSP agreement is written, that sort of use isn't allowed!

I saw a few fs2004 hits, but they started around the 3rd or 4th, not the first Wink

Couldn't find any for PC but if you have a TI-83/84 Plus then here's the link:

http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/369/36927.html

It says you can grow it, mow it and even take pictures of it. Wonder if they have a screen shot forum for people to post their pictures. lol

Actually such a simulation isn't as silly as it seems. In looking for this I found a number of articles in Biology publications where
universities have set up grass simulations to model soil erosion and study programming techniques to create realistic wind movement
of grass inside PC games. Who knows this might be in Fs10. Imagine seeing your prop wash in spot view on tall grass as you make a
low pass. Smile

Re: hello give fsp to friend - Jetsgo - 23-10-2005

I personally find the simulation of grass a serious topic. Hundreds of backyard disasters each year occur, where the owner doesn't
maintain the grass to the full extent, and it becomes dull, to long, or the dreaded -- brown. I think you should all be ashamed of
yourselves for humiliating the exhilerating process of the growth of grass. I personally could play the Grass Simulation for 7, mabey 8
hours per day. I'm exitedly awaiting Microsoft's Grass Simulation: A Century of Green. Here is a screenshot of what you all seem to find
humorous, when really, its quite amazing.

lol lol I'm only joking of course Wink
