Bush flights - Boomer - 20-10-2005 Is it possible to make true bush flights (remote locations that are not an airport) & not get the "failed to arrive at airport" penalty? I would like to impliment this for my Bush VA but if I cant find a way around this penalty I dont know how to do so. Many thanks for any info! Re: Bush flights - Dutch64 - 20-10-2005 I think by not setting your destination. Just a guess here, i always set it in fact ![]() Re: Bush flights - SaVas - 20-10-2005 Dont set the destination, however when you land not sure what it will tell you Re: Bush flights - Boomer - 20-10-2005 Thank you for the replies. Im afraid that doesnt work. I tried not setting a destination & it tells me that the passengers didnt reach there destination. ![]() Re: Bush flights - SaVas - 20-10-2005 Hmmmm I wonder if this could be a feature eventually. Maybe set the destination as bush clearing and it weighs the distance of your flight as what you can get points for. It would weigh everything else as normal (if you land in the ground well like a grass field runway does, etc) Dan? Would it be possible in the future beause I love sim bush flying myself and normally just land at some strip somewhere, though a landing in the forest would be good. Then for pax pick up you could designate it a bush clearing as the place the pax were picked up. Same for if we just use cargo for when us bush pilots drop off supplies or pick up hunted animals to take to the butchers lol Re: Bush flights - poden - 20-10-2005 Hmmm, I don't have any problem with "bush" flights. I do set a flight time, but not a destination; this is my usual procedure when using a flying boat. I get a "flight time set" response when I set it at the start of the flight. I never get penalized for not reaching my destination this way. Simple enough, I don't understand why its not working. You should be able to take off in FSP, not set a destination or flight time, do touch-and-gos, then finish the flight by landing, taxiing to parking, and setting the parking brake. You'll get credit for the flight time, income, and some sort of score for passenger satisfaction. Post Edited ( 10-20-05 20:05 ) Re: Bush flights - SaVas - 20-10-2005 The joys of being at work. I forgot all about that poden. It does actually work. But can you do it in reverse like start at some open wilderness field (non airport) and land somewhere and have it still work? Re: Bush flights - pagir - 20-10-2005 There is another trick: If you are flying in a place where few airports exists, you should be able to set as destination the nearest airport, even if you land on a lake 25 nm away. But be sure the airport isn't more than 30nm away (this number isn't really accurate). This is working because FsP check the nearest airport from the GPS data. The destination is the nearest airport. You are simply saying to FsP: I'll land in the vicinity of that airport. FsP is not intended for "tour flight" right now so there is a minimum of 10mn... (else would be too easy to earn points as you just need tot take of and make a prefect landing to get points) Hope it help ? Dan Re: Bush flights - Cydon Prax - 20-10-2005 There is a cheat to get 3000 points easy-- Pick up the default cessna, go to KCCR, take off, and wait till your engine shuts off. You should be able to glide to the runway or a nearby road safly and get 3000 points. Save, rebuild the airplane, repeat! Its not a multiplayer online Everquest game where you get 'ub3r armor' Re: Bush flights - Cydon Prax - 20-10-2005 That is for those other pilots you need to be c9 rating for the ''fleet'' bonus stuff and the ability to fly with someone else incase your main pilot is injured Re: Bush flights - pagir - 20-10-2005 Quote:Cydon Prax wrote:Even with a single pilot, you will have the fleet bonus. You don't have to have 5 pilots to get the fleet bonus from 5 planes! But it's true you may have some trouble if your main pilot is injured... Pagir Re: Bush flights - MattNW - 21-10-2005 I've been doing bush flights ever since getting FSP. I've landed both at airports and off airport and haven't had any trouble. Haven't tried a short flight however. Most of my flights have been from 30 min. to 1h. & 30min. Only trouble I've had is once FSP reported that I didn't reach the destination because of some add on scenery adjacent to a default airport. FSP didn't recognize the add on airport as the destination I entered. Oh, and also last night I lost points because my passengers got hungry while I was in the pattern for landing. Hey Dan could you modify FSP to allow me to pass out sandwhiches as the passengers are getting off the airplane. ![]() Re: Bush flights - Boomer - 21-10-2005 Quote:poden wrote: Ahhh thats the trick! Setting a flight time instead of a destination allows me to get full points for the flight. Many thanks for all the info! |
