voice slowdown?? - stevehow - 18-10-2005
Hi all
after takeoff and when playing music,i get to certain altitude,turn off the ground music and wallop..all voices ATC,stewardesses and pilots
start talking very slooooowwwwlllyyyyy..so slow i can't understand a word they are saying.ideas,suggestions welcome please...cold this
be an editvoicepack problem???

click on shift + z twice when it happens, and have a look at your framerate
when this happens to me, its usually because my framerate is down to the likes of 10-12

Ps should it become faster if FPS is higher.also this has just started within last 3 flights.was fine before

Could be editvp but might also want to look into getting the latest drivers for your sound card. Ive never had this issue so Im only guessing

not sure why it has only happened in the last few flight, but then mine dont do it for several flights, then it was doing it tonite

looked at my fps and it was down to 6-8fps
once your up around 15+ the sound of atc is fine i have found.
Have you set real weather>? Was the sky particualy cloudy when the ATC slowed down by any chance?

Hi
yeh i use ASVE real weather.but never had this slow down till i use FSP over last couple of days.rank is Master second officer,so i got a
few hours under my belt,with No problems.very strange!!!..framerates normally around 18-20..i do use a lot of addons tho..

I have all those as well, and all the terrain mesh levels for North America from FSgenesis.
I hae read somewhere that UT-USA will kill frames if you tell it to do residential streets and residential street lighting. Turn those off. Also
the 3D lights with UT-USA I was told are on even during the day so these will impact frame rates as well if thats the case.

just checked my framerates during voice slowdown..can't be that ,they were 19-20fps when it happened.seems to be after a set
time.probaly around the 2min mark

there is good news and bad..good news is..this is not a FSPassengers related fault.it happens when i run FS9 on its own..Bad news..i
now have to find what is causing it..i'm wondering if dodgy ram can effect it??.i use 1GB of Ballistix memory 400mhz..but it doesnt like
ATHLON 3500 64's so i can only run it at 333mhz..it overheats and PC crashes when i run at 400mhz(even with fan on it)

Do the voices stutter, like, or just sound very slow? My ATC voices have stuttered for ages. I normally fix the problem by turning sound on
and off once rapidly, but this only works if I'm not flying with FSP. If I'm flying with FSP, the voices still stutter. My FPS are normally around
6-9 per second.
