Powerbacks and Flaps 0 - Eagle737 - 02-10-2005 Hey, I know this is kinda overly picky.. but is there any way to fix FsPassengers to allow for some aircraft to Powerback from the gate??? it is/was a very common practice at AA with MD-80s... and NW with DC-9s... so flyin my AA MD-80 I powerbacked from the gate at SEA.. well... flight over it had cost me in points saying it was prohibited.... I wish powerback could be requested like the 250kt exemption and either approved with no point penalty or denied and forcing a pushback.... Other thing.... flyin the SF340 the other day... I took off with flaps 0 which is a normal t/o config for the airframe... but of course was penalized... anything to be done there??? a lot of aircraft are standard Flaps 0 take offs... such as SF340s and Fokker 100s....and extremely standard in the GA world. Thanks for any input, Chris Re: Powerbacks and Flaps 0 - biddy - 02-10-2005 Powerbacks are vary rare I have worked at LHR for 15 years and have only seen this once and that was a Dash 8. You can disable both of these penaltys in the config. Re: Powerbacks and Flaps 0 - SWAFO - 02-10-2005 Why not use the pushback utility, and pretend you're powering back! ![]() Re: Powerbacks and Flaps 0 - kvuo - 02-10-2005 ahh, you reminded me of something.. is there any way to turn whilst pushing back in FS9? Re: Powerbacks and Flaps 0 - biddy - 02-10-2005 You have to push either 1 or 2 straight after shift P if you don't do it quick enough it will not work. Re: Powerbacks and Flaps 0 - SWAFO - 02-10-2005 If you purchase FS2Crew, a pushback utility is included. Works great for me! Re: Powerbacks and Flaps 0 - Eagle737 - 02-10-2005 haha... thanks for the advice... i guess i'll just turn the penalty off... even though some weird part of me likes having the penalties in place... even if I don't want to follow their rules as far as flaps 0 t/o and powerbacks... and nah, I've never had an issue pushing back... just sometimes I want to powerback in the Douglas twins.... it was all the rage at AA when I worked for them and still used by NW here and there.... mainly it was in the days when Jet A and the ensuing additional mx wasn't killin the pocketbooks of corporate as opposed to getting enough pushback tugs and the possible acft dmg that can go with that route.... but oh well... might as well live with the times and just enjoy the push... -Chris Re: Powerbacks and Flaps 0 - SWAFO - 04-10-2005 ![]() I just noticed your signature... those are the rules I abide by, but be quiet about it! ![]() Re: Powerbacks and Flaps 0 - Fritz Bayerlein - 04-10-2005 Bah. I proudly power back in my 757 all the time. And I edited the air file for my plane so I can use up to 80% n1 with the thrust reversers on. Needless to say my deceleration on landing is extreme and I never need to use the brakes or spoilers for landing. :-) You like that Brad? :-) I know you wanna do maximum reverse thrust someday on your passengers. Re: Powerbacks and Flaps 0 - Jackal - 04-10-2005 bahaha! that's brilliant.... whip your wings around and fly backwards!!!!! Re: Powerbacks and Flaps 0 - SWAFO - 04-10-2005 Technically we can get the N1 up to near 90% in reverse thrust. It seems pretty powerful in the PMGD aircraft though.
