Re: should i buy it ore not - Ryanamur - 22-07-2005

Rumor as it that Fs2006 (2007) will not be released until the fourth quarter of 2006. This would give you at least a full year of playing with FsP.
Also, Dan did mention that he MIGHT (I can't stress that word enough) upgrade FsP to Fs2006 free of charge.

Re: should i buy it ore not - shadows - 22-07-2005

oke thnx fot the info Smile
i will make the money over whit my bank soon Smile
( does anybody have an idee how long it takes before i do get my code then ?)

Re: should i buy it ore not - Ryanamur - 22-07-2005

It took me about 3 minutes to get the code! If there is no problem with the server, it's really fast. If you have a problem (ie you haven't received
it in 30 minutes or so), email Dan.

Get it, even you FS2006 comes out in January, it's well worth having!

Re: should i buy it ore not - MIchaelLOWL - 22-07-2005

why waiting and look for some rumor - FS10 definitively would not come before 4.quartal 2006. you can buy it via http://www.simmarket.com
and get your key immediately, no waiting. this program is the must have of the year, more then worth to buy it. ;-))
regards

MIchael
happy to have bought it...

Re: should i buy it ore not - pegase - 22-07-2005

ILet's be simple, should you buy it ot not ?

Don't bother about what Microsoft will do or not, don't quest for rumors, simply ask yourself: "DO I WANT IT?".

You have FSç, You have or can download the free demo fully functional as long as you take of from San Fransisco, you have tons of GREAT airliners
free to download from everywhere. So, you have ALL elements to check if you can have good time with it for the price.

I can just tell you that I tested it and I found that it provided what I was missing so far, atmosphere, immersion, challaenge feeling and last but
not least, an acurate evaluation of my flyght. But a big default was remaining... the limitation to start from San Francisco on the free demo.

It was simple logic for me to buy it .

But you are the only one granted to decide for youself. Simply check if you like it. it is the only reliable information you can get.

Kind regards from

Pierre

Personally, if I may give my two bits worth, FSP (paid version) is well worth every penny even buying with deflated Canadian dollars. Dan
should be supported in this project and I recommend the program as one of the best FS add-ons I've seen in almost twenty years of
Flight Smming.

Cheers Colin.

Re: should i buy it ore not - ClemsonPilot - 23-07-2005

This program is awesome...I am in pilot training for the Air Force...fly all day and come home to fly FSP at night...

Re: should i buy it ore not - twanut - 23-07-2005

I spend too much money on Flight Sim add ons, at least that's what my wife says. But it's cheaper than golf clubs, golf carts,
and dues for the country club. In my opinion this FS Passenger program ranks right up there with PMDG 737, Flight One's Piper
Meridian, and Active Sky because not only is the program quality but the people who made it care and are willing to provide top notch
quality customer service. I've been dealing with Lago who refuses to answer my questions, and the gang at FS Passengers are a breath
of fresh air. When you do a direct download, you are swinging in the breeze, I learned that with Lago. FS Passengers backs up their
product, and to me that's just as important as quality. Another reason I like this program is because it allows me the freedom to tinker
with it which is half my enjoyment of Microsoft Flight Simulator. Sometimes I spend more time tinkering than flying!

I flew out of San Francisco with the demo five or six times and played around with the various downloads, until I was sure it would work ,
then I bought it. I have no regrets. The fully functional demo is what sold me. They laid it all on the line with it and won me over.

As for FS 2006, its been my experience that groups who make add ons for a previous version will make it compatable with the next
verion. For instance, Wilco's PIC 767 and Dream Fleet 737 were interfaced with FS2000 but were updated to FS2002. Captain Sims 727
and Iron Knuckles DC9 were interfaced with FS2002 but were updated to FS 2004. This is just to name a few. I can't promise you that
this will be the case with FSPassengers, but I've been around since FS98 and this is usually the general rule of thumb with people who
make add-ons especially this late in the game.

How do you like Active Sky? What does it really add? Any framerate hit? Is it a MUST HAVE?

ONTO THE MAIN TOPIC:

Asking whether or not you should buy FSP is a question that will only have one answer in a FSP discussion forum;
YES! Everyone that's
tried it loves it, and there's no reason you wouldn't either. I'm an airline pilot here in the US, and I'll gladly
recommend, and endorse this
product to anyone that asks about FS or add-ons for it.

My suggestion: Try the demo... fly out of SFO. That way you can try before you buy. If you don't like it, I'll buy you a
copy anyway. lol Wink

Great. Much better looking weather, moch more realistic feeling winds, new textures for different sorts of clouds, skies, lights etc. Framerate hits
depends on how you configure it of course; if you choose 64x64 textures with mipmaps enabled you will actually gain framerates (but no better
looking sim - rather worse Wink). Anyway, YES, it's definitely a must have.

Re: should i buy it ore not - pegase - 23-07-2005

Talking about add-ons, I think the question "should I buy it or not" will come rather about... FS 2006 Wink

-New flight sim version need always stronger computer for same frame rate.
-What about my favorite planes ? will they work ?
How many time to get those planes available for the new version ?
-Same question for the sceneries
-Same question about AI traffic.

Last but not least: Will it work will FSP ? Wonder

So many question and Bill is not used to distribute free trial version... Doubt

I did never run on the latest version of Flight Sim, I wait until I can afford the computer it needs (this lasts between 1 and 2 years) and then,
there is also enough add ons available on it..

Active sky is awesome! I can't tell much of a frame rate hit unless it is updating. I have DSL so it may run a little faster downloading
weather than a modem. It gives you options on how you want things to be set up. You can fly with current weather or download from the
archive which goes back to 2004. There's a cool radar that gives you the winds and temp at your destination airport so you can plan
your apporoach. I only have a 2.4 ghz 512 ram with a Nvidia 4200, and active sky does fine. By the way, active sky offers excellent
customer service. They don't leave you hanging.

Re: should i buy it ore not - Ryanamur - 24-07-2005

Active Sky is a very nice add-on. Personnally, I would suggest you get FUISPC before you get Active Sky...
