heathrow pro recognized as diffrent airport? - kaptnkaspy - 09-09-2005 Hi yesterday i flew from eham-egll int he pmdg744, and i was all happy finally gettin some points as i made sure not to mess anythign up, well i landed and it said i didnt reach my destinationa and i didnt declare emergency. yet im sitting at the gate at heatrow using the version 2 scenery. I cant remember off top of my head what airport it did think i landed at since im at work, but ill update when i do get home... unitl then any ideas? egll is currently my home base for my virtual airline. Re: heathrow pro recognized as diffrent airport? - SWAFO - 09-09-2005 Are you sure that you entered the correct ICAO code? If you rush through entering the destination ICAO code, and accidentally enter even one letter wrong, FSP may expect you to arrive at a completely different airport! Next time, be sure to double check it. Re: heathrow pro recognized as diffrent airport? - kaptnkaspy - 10-09-2005 yes i did double check it and it was right.. and in the report it saiid you didnt land at the sacheduled airport EGLL, did another flight into heathrow tonite same problem, another thing is simflyers LIRF scenery it said i went off the edge of runwway but i was on it the whole time, i landed 36R and took off 36L same problem. As for the diffrent airport, it thought it was JFGL?? also when i took off from LIRF it thought the airport was JFLR? never heard of? so problems im having are: simflyers lirf scenery something wrong with runways i was on the runway at all times on centerline (pretty much) defenitly not on grass! and my UK scnery EGLL is being recognized as JFGL yesterday i landed on 27R and today i landed 27L same problem. Re: heathrow pro recognized as diffrent airport? - Dutch64 - 10-09-2005 It might also have to do with some double afcad files. Your addon scenery will most likely install an afcad file but won't remove the original afcad file which might cause this. I had a similar issue with other airports. I've found out that in my pc besides the addon afcad files, also utlimate traffic's afcad files where in place. I removed those ones and didn't had much troubles anymore (except for EHAM but that seems to be difficult to get it working ![]() You can also use some software (freeware) called scanafd i think, you can find it on avsim, it will scan and detect duplicate afcad files. Hope this helps Martin Re: heathrow pro recognized as diffrent airport? - snakeboy - 10-09-2005 Run Afcad, you can get it from Avsim, and see what it brings up for EGLL Re: heathrow pro recognized as diffrent airport? - SWAFO - 10-09-2005 Definetly odd. I've got up to 3 AFCAD files for each airport, and no problems on my end. Hope everything works out for you. There's also a program available that was just mentioned in the newest Computer Pilot magazine issue. It's supposed to scan your AFCAD files, and delete the unnecessary ones. Here's a link: http://www.nwlink.com/~erog The program is called ScanAFD. Give it a try, and let me know! Re: heathrow pro recognized as diffrent airport? - kaptnkaspy - 10-09-2005 hey guys thanks for the responses, i ran the utility, and it did have duplicated afcad files for a bunch of my add on sceneries. i did delete all the duplicates that came with fs9 and left the ones that come with the add-ons, so ill keep you posted. Re: heathrow pro recognized as diffrent airport? - siefc - 11-09-2005 Hi I think I know what the problem is with Heathrow and other airports coming out as different codes. I bet you have Traffic 2005 installed as I have, and if you look using fsnavigator at the airports you will see the helipads that have been added by traffic2005 ie: Heathrow helipad JFGL etc But I don't know how to sort it perhaps Dan will know I hope this helps Simon Re: heathrow pro recognized as diffrent airport? - SWAFO - 11-09-2005 If you still have an AFCAD with the default Heathrow ICAO, and it's located where Heathrow actually is (where you're landing), there shouldn't be a problem. Couldn't imagine why. Re: heathrow pro recognized as diffrent airport? - Dutch64 - 11-09-2005 It's getting a bit off topic maybe but two (or more) afcad files or sceneries for the same location/airport means trouble. Sometimes fs2004 can handle it but often it will give a ctd with most likely an error about atc.dll. In several forums all over the internet you will find many topics with fs04 behaving 'strange' or crashing, especially when reaching a certain scenery or waypoint, most of the time double afcad files are the cause. Again, even if it won't solve you problem right now, it won't hurt at all to run scanafd and delete all duplicate files. It solved a lot of problems for me at least ![]() Re: heathrow pro recognized as diffrent airport? - SWAFO - 12-09-2005 I don't think this post is getting off topic at all. The individual that made this post, stated a problem, and we stated possible solutions. If none of them work, it doesn't mean it's off topic... simply we're trying to help, and it's not helping. No problem there. Re: heathrow pro recognized as diffrent airport? - kaptnkaspy - 12-09-2005 yes i do have traffic 2005 installed. I did a short hop from egkk to egll just few mins ago and no problems after deleting the fs2004 default duplicate afcad file!! so it did recognize the aiport as egll. Now ill have to try to fly back to lirf and see if i get the dangerous takeoff and landing there, i cannon remember but i believe there was a duplicate for lirf too. ill let ya guys know. and i appreaciate the help! If not considered off topic, even better! ![]() Re: heathrow pro recognized as diffrent airport? - kaptnkaspy - 22-09-2005 ok guys nevermind it didnt wor lost like 300 some points again yesterday because of that stupid helicopter package from traffic 2005 i went to their website and no help i posted a thread and not a single response! gettink lil pissed off here lol Im flying egll to moscow now and i looked at the inflight info and it said i took off from that darn heliport. I tried to search for afcad file but its a no go, not a single one exist for the installed heliports from T5. any of you guys have any ideas? please help thanks all Re: heathrow pro recognized as diffrent airport? - NeilC - 23-10-2005 Go to your FS9 folder Then open Scenery Than open Traffic2005AFD Then open Scenery Then find AF2_JFGL file and delete it This should solve your problem! |
