Sugestion for future version. - Iberiaorbit - 29-08-2005 In order to improove the realism of FsPassengers I think is a must to have an engine mistreating detector with independence of the given percentage of faliure chance. Abussing EGTs, torque limits N1, N2 and TT, (diferent type of engines) should create faliures as engine breaks or burns by overheat or overstress. Example 1: as gaining altitude you make your piston engine mix drop less fuel in the fuel-air mixture, you do it too much and EGT rises. You dont correct and small gas explosions occure in the exhaust... moderate to high chance of faliure and severe rising of maintenance costs. Example 2: Airbus a320 full throtle to take off ignoring the gauges EGT and N2 in red for several minutes... high chance of fatal faliure and or fire in both engines... something like that. This could be an option able-disable in the create company dialogue. I hope you like my idea. Re: Sugestion for future version. - SWAFO - 29-08-2005 I like this idea. Currently, I can spool my engines up to 106% on the N1 scale, then down to idle, then back up again, and again, and again! Nothing ever happens! No overheats, no problems, nothing! It would be nice to have a failure triggered by abusive engine operations! Re: Sugestion for future version. - Iberiaorbit - 29-08-2005 Now I don“t know if in programing terms this is hard or easy thing to be added. Re: Sugestion for future version. - Felix - 29-08-2005 Hm, I think the N1 values (and so the other ones such as EGT, N2, etc.) at which the engines can suffer heavy damage are different from aircraft to aircraft. But I think, that values over 103% N1 are in every jet-aircraft very bad. Speaking of EGT and the other ones I have no idea, what's bad and what's not - I even don't know if FSP could read these values in the memory. Maybe Dan can say more. But I like that idea, something like that is implemented in the PMDG 747, I never tested it but it should be pretty cool ;-) Greetings Felix P.S.: Oh, and Brad, I hope you don't mean your real 737 ;-) Re: Sugestion for future version. - Iberiaorbit - 29-08-2005 PMDG 747 and every PMDG aircraft? I think there is four or five... not surprised they add that. The Queen of the sky is probably the best Flight Simulator add program ever... not counting FsPassengers, of course. Re: Sugestion for future version. - SaVas - 29-08-2005 Lets not make everything the level of PMDG where a doctorate in acronyms and verbage unbecoming a non pilot come into play. *grins* Re: Sugestion for future version. - Iberiaorbit - 30-08-2005 I do not agree on those numbers at all: Computer $2000 good more than enaugh. FS9 $40 FsPassengers $30 FsNavigator (I don't remember so let's say) $30 Joystick $100 PMDG all the collection $200 (in fact less) Internet monthly bill $40 (sure you pay less than me) If anyone don't have enjoyment of simming with this, then he will never do. Ok let's exclude ATC, painters, photographers, web masters and so, cause they need their spacial gear, but for a pilot, you get there a complete pack good enaugh for enjoy, learn and chalenge yourselve in many doferent ways. In a quick look I don't see the thousands of dollars you are talking about. Don't you think so? Re: Sugestion for future version. - Ruaim - 31-08-2005 I think you miss the point - SaVas always signs his posts with those numbers - he did not just include them on this one! It is his signature! ![]() Re: Sugestion for future version. - DanSteph - 31-08-2005 that's an intteresting feature (N1 etc etc) just to aknowledge that I saw it... no promise yet. Dan Re: Sugestion for future version. - Iberiaorbit - 31-08-2005 Oh I didn't know that was his signature, er.. me.. ehemm, I... shame, shame, and you know my name... ...and yes, Dan, think about it. I really think many pilots shall like it. Thank you again for all the help I got from you. Re: Sugestion for future version. - Tom - 31-08-2005 I liek the idea but the idea that i will be climbing from runway to 7000ft with my cessna 172S longer isn't so nice but i'll live with it ![]() |
