AI traffic crashing into my aircraft - dal1 - 18-08-2005 Hi all, How do i stop AI traffic behind me from bumping into me whilst queing for take off? I am fed up of a tailing aircraft from ploughing into me and causing my session to record a crash... How do i either stop it or disable the crash protection Your help is greatly appreciated Dal Re: AI traffic crashing into my aircraft - SWAFO - 18-08-2005 A search of the forum would've turned up the same answer I'm going to give you, just much faster ![]() disable FS9 crash detection, and then edit the forcecrashdetection line to equal 1 in the more_config.cfg file in the FSPassengers/Config directory Hope this helps, and welcome to the forum! Re: AI traffic crashing into my aircraft - SaVas - 18-08-2005 Ive noticed when I dont "talk to the ATC" such as at night when Im about to go to bed and turn on a long distant flight (autopilot) while I sleep and I dont talk to the ATC I tend to get bumped because the AI dont recognise that I am on the runway, however if I talk to the ATC and follow their directions to the runway, I never get bumped. Setting up for take off from active runway in FS9 instead of taxiing from the gates to the runway, means your aircraft on the runway is kind of like a ghost to the AI but only on the runway. When your aircraft is on the taxiways it is recognized by the program. Notice when you are coming in for a landing. If you dont talk to the ATC, the AI act as though you arent there and taxi onto the runway for take off, however when you are communicating with the ATC (kind of the brains of the flight sim) the aircraft wait for take off until you land. now AI aircraft also coming in for a landing will sometimes crash into you or flight right over/under you if your approach speeds are slower than the AI. So in conclusion, talk to the ATC from the gates and taxi to the runway and dont use start from active runway. if you do start from the active, immediately talk to the ATC follow instructions with the ground. you are already for take off so contact the tower afterwards. This will halt the AI from crashing into you. Re: AI traffic crashing into my aircraft - olseric - 19-08-2005 There are two decent freeware programs out there that will handle AI traffic and ensure proper seperation (or at least, a large improvement). Off the top of my head, I don't recall the names, but one will put them in holding patterns and space them out for the approach, so you can actually land one, take one off, land one, etc, etc with proper spacing. The other one will check for conflicts and slew any offending AI traffic back until it's at a safe distance from other AI traffic or you. Both are very effective at eliminating the 14 planes lined up for approach during an arrival block that are spaced 5 feet apart. Re: AI traffic crashing into my aircraft - SaVas - 19-08-2005 Search AISmooth on Avsim Re: AI traffic crashing into my aircraft - jboweruk - 19-08-2005 AISmooth has now been included by JustFlight in their Traffic2005 program, and it's an enhanced version of this great little utility too, it can be really edited, speeds, rollout, individual airports can all be changed, oh, and it's got a speech thing now too so you don't have to read the text at the top of your screen, you can hear it. Re: AI traffic crashing into my aircraft - Talkster - 20-08-2005 Want to get rid of AI traffic temporarily? Pause simulator, press r and + until the sim speed is 8x. You will see the AI aircraft disappear. Then, press r again and use the - to return to normal speed. Unpause the sim and go flying. It's a cheat but helps if you are waiting on a runway behind 10 or so planes and you're being called for dinner. I use Ultimate Traffic and have the traffic set to 100%. I know I can reduce the setting but I don't find it much fun that way. Regards. Re: AI traffic crashing into my aircraft - olseric - 20-08-2005 AI Smooth...that's it. =) The other is AI Seperation. |
