45 Mins fuel reserve - Sitac2000 - 19-07-2005 Hi All Just a quick question about fuel reserves. Does anyone know of a way to work out the fuel required for a flight. I set my flight up with flight planner in FS which tells me what i need for the flight but how do i know how much more i need for the 45 min reserve. Any help is much appreciated. Brian Re: 45 Mins fuel reserve - Ryanamur - 20-07-2005 Go check out this thread: http://www.fspassengers.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=314 Re: 45 Mins fuel reserve - SWAFO - 20-07-2005 If you're flying with the 737, add an extra 6000 pounds to your calculated trip fuel. This is a quick, and easy rule of thumb for VFR calculations. Re: 45 Mins fuel reserve - nem - 20-07-2005 If you know the trip time (see http://www.fspassengers.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=497 ) and the average fuel flow of your plane (search the web for it, for most planes you can find a fuel flow number at least for cruise power, that will do in most cases) you can calculate the fuel needed yourself. Add in the fomula Ryan posted the link to and off you go. |
