Emergency before take off? - Ehmjo - 27-07-2005 Hi guys, First of all: I love FSP. Never fly without it! Got a small question though. Just now I saw i had a hydraulics problem (when starting the engines). I tried to call an emergency but failed. I shut down the engines, opened the doors and ended FSP. FSP recognised the problem but penalised me because i didn't declare an emergency and not landing at destination??? Is this a bug? Keep up the good work! Post Edited ( 07-29-05 13:04 ) Re: Emergency before take off? - SWAFO - 27-07-2005 What type of hydraulic problem did you have? I haven't seen this one before. Re: Emergency before take off? - Ehmjo - 28-07-2005 I used PDMG B737-700 and the "Hyd" warning came on. My left engine wasn't generating enough power. (guess it was an engine problem) ![]() The thing is: I wasn't able to declare an emergency, but I did get the penalty for not declaring one... Re: Emergency before take off? - savage - 28-07-2005 If FSP doesn't say there's a problem, there is no emergency. FSP does not understand emergencies that comes out of FS9 as far as I'm aware - it has to be 'generated' by FSP, in which case the CP will announce it. Re: Emergency before take off? - SWAFO - 28-07-2005 The "HYD" warning came on? With what engine/hydraulic conditions? Did you have the engines running with all 4 pumps on? Normally, this light will indicate low pressure, and will come on when the engines aren't operating, or they're starting up (not sure if that's how the PMDG models it). Re: Emergency before take off? - Ehmjo - 29-07-2005 The warning came after engine startup. I could see N1 performing poorly. That's when I tried to declare an emergency and ended the flight. In the report FSP mentioned the failure. I guess my real question is: When i see a problem while I'm still on the ground, how can I declare an emergency or avoid the penalty? Re: Emergency before take off? - DanSteph - 29-07-2005 Hello Eric, can you post your flight log ? Thanks Dan Re: Emergency before take off? - Ehmjo - 29-07-2005 Hi Dan, Again many thanks for making FS9 so much more fun!! The only log I can find is from my last flight. Where does FSP keep the older logs? Keep up the good work! Re: Emergency before take off? - DanSteph - 29-07-2005 If you registered your flight see in "pilot flight log" in FsP menu. and double click on flight to have the complete flight log. Dan Post Edited ( 07-29-05 13:10 ) Re: Emergency before take off? - SWAFO - 29-07-2005 We're your APU bleeds on? If you attempt a start without them (at least IRL), you will have a VERY POOR N1 response. Re: Emergency before take off? - Ehmjo - 31-07-2005 Hi Dan, Here are some parts of my flight log: Incident Report: One engine was delivering less power tahn other, fortunately the pilot checked this and aborted the take-off. Overall Flight Result: Very Poor Pilot Bonus Points: 500 points * A problem occurred before take-off and you took appropriate action, nice job (+500) Pilot's Penalty points: -350 points * You didn't land at the scheduled airport LLET and you didn't declare an emergency (-350) Hope this helps. Re: Emergency before take off? - DanSteph - 31-07-2005 that's a real FSP bug... usually you aren't penalised when you don't make a flight in THIS case but I forgot the case when you set a destination.... Thanks for reporting... noted in my bug books... Dan |
