Doors? - Tanz - 08-07-2005 Hi guys! My first impression is really good!!!! I've tried the demo flight (even if purchased lol) and a weird thing occured during it...(B734) In the option menu...flight crews automaticaly close the door... So before getting people on board, i've opened them...wait for pax to be seated and heard the door closing, i've crosschecked with outside view.. .ok ..& then start taxiing(by the way very nice music!). I was rolling for Take off when i heard a door was still opened...(fear of Pax increasing! lol) So i've aborted the T/O and closed it (?!)....came back on rwy for another try... This time no probs....but a strange "wind blowing" noise was there...and when i flew through 12000 ft....then decompression risk appeared + fear...etc....So I bet one door was still opened! Damn it! lol I'll try some other tests tonight to check this out... Could please tell me if this happened to you as well in the same conditions? Thanks! Re: Doors? - pagir - 08-07-2005 Sure! You broke the door when rolling (do you roll with doors opened??? Maybe a strange custom in Tanzania ![]() So it didn't close well... The sound you've hearded was the air coming in the plane... And since there's no door anymore... you can't pressurize!!! Pagir Re: Doors? - DanSteph - 08-07-2005 another cargo door opened ? crew close only door one... Dan Re: Doors? - bushsimmer - 08-07-2005 that will learn ya, tanz. that actually happened to me TWICE whilst flying from san fran to lax. here's what you gotta do: be diligent with outside/external ac checks. BEFORE you ask for atc clearance to pushback, do an outside check. make sure cargo and pax doors are closed. go back into the cockpit and see what pax status is. do not, do not, do not hit shift-e for door operations unless you are absolutely certain you have to. every time you do you have to have your ground crew (yourself) check the outside to make sure the doors are secure. all this should clear it up, unless you have one of the early b747's whose cargo doors opened automatically. good flying, tanz Re: Doors? - DanSteph - 08-07-2005 ah sorry didn't read it completely.... the door once you roll at high speed is considered as "jammed" in brief your flight is fried and you will get anyway a lot of penalty for attempt to take-of with a door open (wich is not a cool things if you want my opinion ![]() Dan Re: Doors? - Tanz - 08-07-2005 ouah!! Excellent! I didn't expect that at all....very well surprised!! P.S: Pagir....lol...even with hot OAT in Tz...we make it with doors closed...but with an 'open' option for angry pax! ![]() Thanks guys! |
