Have I the Time to Fly? - FatBadger - 19-08-2015

Hi All

Thanks to Steam Edition I'm Just finding my feet in FSX again after a long absence and am currently checking out the FS Passengers demo. This seems just what I need
to add to my flying (well... more like hopping at the moment) as I always find I need structure of some kind to get the most out of it. I've also bought the "Cargo Crew"
addon, but will need to learn a few more ropes before trying it. Plus I want to use Just Flights DC-3 for that and am waiting for it to arrive in the post. Smile

A long while ago I bought "Air Hauler" and up to a point I really enjoyed it. But what defeated me was the way that program dealt with real time. Which is to say that "Air
Haulers" clock kept ticking per your system time regardless of what you were doing. So if I ran out of time mid flight and had to save for example, "Air Haulers" world would
have advanced along side real time when I came back. So if I'd been making an hours flight, saved half way through and come back two days later, my delivery would
have been two days late! And I was always doing that because I was always running out of playing time! LOL. Also, if like me there were long periods between play
sessions, your in game company would start to depreciate in value through lack of business.

So before deciding whether or not to invest in FS Passengers, I thought it might be a good idea to ask you fellas whether or not it's structure is a little more forgiving in that
regard. Can I save a flight mid job and come back a few days later to continue where I left off?

Thanks all
Badger

No, you cannot save FsP flights in progress.

Oh that's a real shame. I'm enjoying the short haul tests I've done so far in the demo, so I won't rule it out. But I'll certainly have to think on it some more.

Thanks for your help Leftcoaster.

You can't save flights in progress, but you can speed up the time acceleration (although doing so makes you lose 30% of your potential bonus points).

Time acceleration will make the flights shorter, so if you are tight on time you can just accelerate the time.

That way an 8 hour flight on x4 time acceleration will only take 2 hours total.

You can also disable the time-acceleration penalty, or at least you can for FsP for FS9.

And how about down time in between sessions chaps? Does an extended absence affect your company in any way? (As in AirHauler.)

Nope! Fspassengers doesn't do anything in between the flights except what you do in the menus.
Edit: this was my 100th post(i think)
