PMDG?!?!?!? - ezzeke3 - 13-07-2005 What does it stand for, and where do u get these aircraft at? Hope its not a noob question ... Re: PMDG?!?!?!? - kayle411 - 13-07-2005 Post Edited ( 07-22-10 08:53 ) Re: PMDG?!?!?!? - Flash87 - 13-07-2005 PMDG stands for precision manuals devolopment Group ( It's a company that makes highly realistic aircraft. Even SWFO ( a first officer for Southwest Airlines says it's very similar to the real jets! check it out here http://www.precisionmanuals.com/default.htm Re: PMDG?!?!?!? - ezzeke3 - 13-07-2005 Thnaks for the quick response!! I will check it out now!!! Re: PMDG?!?!?!? - SWAFO - 13-07-2005 PMDG makes the best 737 NG add on for simulated flying. It just doesn't get any better for PC users. Re: PMDG?!?!?!? - fruitfly - 13-07-2005 Here's a question from another forum: "Hi there I'm not regular here in this part of the forum but figured that this might be the best place to ask I have a friend who Flys Eagle Airways B1900D Link Service in New Zealand. He has a possible opportunity to fly Air New Zealand 737 's After his inteview test he did not get that position however they are interested in keeping him for future oportunitys. One thing they actual said to him was to get Simulator experience using Microsoft Flightsimulator " He thought they were jokeing " they were not .As my friend has Really no computer suitable for such training I thought I would get a list of Software and Equipment he needs for such simulation if he goes that way. Priorty is Flight model engine realism /Panels / What is available /Freeware /Payware /Air New Zealand 737's Please list Best Acurate as possible Freeware first then payware Your submissions appreciated" Of course, the proposed A/C was PMDG! ![]() BTW. SWAFO, what do you think, would SW reccomend the same thing to you? ![]() Re: PMDG?!?!?!? - SWAFO - 13-07-2005 I think they would! We do everything against the standards, and in fun and unique ways, so I wouldn't be suprised if they make recommendations to new recruits that aren't yet type rated. Quite a few of my buddies at work mess around with FS2004 (I'm the only one that does it as a serious hobby). They've all got the PMDG, and I've got to get them hooked on FSP now! Re: PMDG?!?!?!? - fruitfly - 13-07-2005 ![]() ![]() Re: PMDG?!?!?!? - jboweruk - 13-07-2005 SWAFO, got a question for you friend: What makes an airline pilot, who flies pretty much every day for a living want to do the same thing as a hobby? I mean I know a lot of airline pilots who spend a good chunk of summer weekends flying Spitfires and stuff at airshows, but to want to fly pax around in a simulator when you get to do it for real? Hope you don't mind me asking and hope the way it's asked didn't sound offensive, just intreagued to know that's all. Re: PMDG?!?!?!? - fruitfly - 13-07-2005 Hey, John, check out this one: http://atr.flight1.net/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=1329&KW=Your+submissions+appreciated%22 Re: PMDG?!?!?!? - SWAFO - 13-07-2005 John, That question is one I get often. Mainly from my co-workers, however it is an understandable question. If I spend 25-50 hours a week flying a 737, what makes me want to get in a simulator and put in a couple of hours a week? The answer is simple; love for aviation, and the aviation community. A large part of the aviation community circles around flight simulation, and I like talking with the people, and sharing experiences. I probably only put in about 2-3 hours a week on FS2004, and I like doing it simply because I'm free to mess around, and practice or do things that I wouldn't do in reality. I can test the limits of the aircraft in FS, I can test the limits of the PAX now with FSP (hehe), and I can relax from the stress of carrying 137 PAX (although Dan doesn't help that much now.. lol), and have a good time with my favorite hobby in the world, aviation. Whether it be simulated or real, I like it! I just woke up, so I hope this post makes sense. Re: PMDG?!?!?!? - jboweruk - 13-07-2005 Thanks Brad, it just puzzled me, as there's no way if somebody brought out a Customer Service Simulator I'd play it... LOL. But I can see where you are coming from. Re: PMDG?!?!?!? - JayKae - 13-07-2005 Just be careful the PMDG 737 can be a bit tricky for " unexperienced" simmers though Re: PMDG?!?!?!? - SWAFO - 14-07-2005 Just a "bit" tricky, eh? lol. I would think it would be a LOT overwhelming for the inexperienced simmer. Re: PMDG?!?!?!? - JayKae - 14-07-2005 You say tomaTOE and I say tomAto ![]() |
