Belly Landing - CaptMau - 07-11-2007

Hi!
I'm new to the forum
I am a pilot for El Salvador's TACA Airlines and today I performed a belly landing in a 747-400 in a 1000 feet runway,
After this the flight attendant said that the exits where open and I noticed that the sound effect used in the escape is an actual recording
from a TACA from an aircrash in April 1993

http://youtube.com/watch?v=ADqf0N07Vh0
here is the video of the actual recording from inside the plane

Re: Belly Landing - ameval - 07-11-2007

wow... That was probably a pilot´s mistake as the narrator said he landed too high and too fast plus the rwy was wet. that video actually scared me wow
just by seeing it. Think how the pilot was feeling when he saw the orange lights and then the red lights, he probably crap himself lol . Welcome to
FSP forum by the way.

I just found this one: http://youtube.com/watch?v=rwgSVhgFm7E

Thanks!
Inside TACA we have quite good stories and several miracle landings
perhaps the most famous is Taca Flight 110

Visit this link
http://dardanoaeroservicios.com/page1/page1.html#
is Captain Carlos Dardano website and click at the bottom on the link that says "Memories of a Miracle Landing"

He is an amazing captain and a true hero

Re: Belly Landing - Canada_Boy - 07-11-2007

Welcome Smile
I have seen that video before, but I never noticed the comparison.
I haven't actually had a belly landing in a very long time so I don't remember the exact sound in FSP.

@Ameval, you sig is a little big and square like, want me to make you one Smile?

Re: Belly Landing - CaptMau - 07-11-2007

TACA was a small airline back then, now we are quite important
Our fleet consists of 37 A320 family (7 a319,26 a320,4 a321) planes plus 20 more airbus's on order and 11 embraer 190 jets on order +
our regional airlines with smaller ATR 42, Cessna Grand Caravans and A319s and over 50 international destinations.

Its a shame our main hub (MSLP, El Salvador International) is not accurately represented in FS2004 or FSX but you have to live with it LOL
it is quite a small airport (only 17 gates being expanded to 30 by 2009) and you can look at it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MSLP
