Everyone please read - New forum section ? - Daza XIII - 23-08-2007 Just an idea, see what everyone else thinks. So as I assume most of us did, I bought a copy of FSP and then joined this forum because of it. The nice thing about this place though is it’s not just an FSP forum and there are quite a few other interesting topics to be found. Since I have been a member it has become one of my favourite places on the www because for the most part there are a good bunch of people who post on here regularly with a nice sense of community. So with that in mind do we think it may be useful to set up a new “any other business” section to the forum. Somewhere to post a few jokes, any non flight related topics of interest and a place for the regulars to get to know each other a bit better and have a bit of fun. Re: Everyone please read - New forum section ? - F-22 Raptor - 23-08-2007 Nice idea Daza Xlll, but i don't know if Dan or The moderators will agree. Re: Everyone please read - New forum section ? - DBE - 23-08-2007 Nice idea, but it has been brought up many times and the general consensus was to submit such topics to the "Real World Aviation" section. A section with A FEW jokes would be certainly a change because so far, all existing sections are FULL of jokes ![]() But yes, as the FsP community is something more than just a software user's forum. I am often curious what you think and feel about various topics and events. Then a section for general talk "the lounge" or something like that would be nice. In afew words Daza, full support to your suggestion ![]() Post Edited ( 08-24-07 09:54 ) Re: Everyone please read - New forum section ? - JanniCash - 25-08-2007 In my experience, the number of forum sections doesn't matter. In a community like THIS, threads tend to get off topic because responses are made to something else, that just triggered that association or memory. Having an extra "off topic" forum will not improve the situation. Jan Re: Everyone please read - New forum section ? - Canada_Boy - 25-08-2007 I Personally like the Idea of an Off Topic forum, one where you can discuss the latest news, jokes, riddles, and games. Or find something funny and want to share. It would also get rid of off topic threads where they might not belong. People just have to make sure what they post isn't going to offend anyone, and is somewhat suitable for a family forum. I rarely see anyone post anything offensive, and if they do it will be removed in no time. If it is really bad or has happened a few times the user will probably be banned. There is no way you can stop someone from posting something that might not suite a family forum so on, but if they do it will be removed. I think that is no reason to not have an off topic forum. Just my 2 cents. Re: Everyone please read - New forum section ? - Jambone - 25-08-2007 Yeah, I gotta hand it to the mods, they do a great job keepin the forums presentable ![]() Re: Everyone please read - New forum section ? - DBE - 25-08-2007 Quote:Jambone wrote: This post is soooo ironic! ![]() Re: Everyone please read - New forum section ? - Canada_Boy - 25-08-2007 Yeah, I was waiting for someone to say something about that ![]() |
