So where will you fly your first flight from / to? - Gibbmusic - 08-07-2005 I think this topic came up a few months ago but I can't recall and I'm too lazy to search right now. Since FSP is on the verge of being downloaded like hotcakes, I just wanted to post a quick topic to see where everybody is planning on flying on their first FSP route? I haven't fully decided yet, but I figure I'll go one of two routes: I may just purchase a Mooney Bravo and go the career route, if so my first quick flight will be: KSFO (San Fran) to KOAK (Oakland) That's a quick flight to get the feel of everything. If I decide to go with my original plan, my first plane will be a Fokker70 and I'll fly: KSFO (San Fran) to KFAT (Fresno) That will be a short hop as well. Either way, I plan on flying 1 to 2 flights before I purchase, only because I'll be too excited to wait another minute and get my credit card. BTW, if anybody is looking a site where you can plan your route by how far you plan on flying, try this: http://map.aeroplanner.com/mapping/chart/NearbyAPT.cfm You can enter your starting airport and then sort available airports by distance. Nice if you are flying on a time budget. Gibbmusic Re: So where will you fly your first flight from / to? - Ryanamur - 08-07-2005 Hey Gibbmusic, Thanks for the link, that's pretty cool. As a beta tester, I've been flying FsP for close to a month and a half now. My first official flight after release will be a simple sight-seing ride from Quebec City (CYQB) to Bagotville (CYBG) by going up the St-Laurence river and then the Saguenay fjord. Quite a nice hop if you have a nice scenery pack ![]() Re: So where will you fly your first flight from / to? - Pracines - 08-07-2005 I have an idea to go VERY random. I will go with career and economic modes with fleet income along with instant record of flight. I will begin a career as a charter pilot from my home airport. I will either begin a flight from my home airport to a destination and back or fly from my home airport to another airport in order to pick up a customer then fly them to their destination and back to their home airport then back to my home airport. I will use an awesome program called random flight assigner created by Ashley Sear. With this program one can choose aircraft type and approx flight time and it will give you an airport to fly from and to. However the program also alows you to choose a starting point if you wish. This program is perfect for simulating a FULL service charter operation because you never know where you will fly next. If anybody is interested in the random flight assigner method which contains all airports in FS9. Do a search for FA.ZIP in avsim.com. Be sure to get the update as well. I'll have to try that myself. Gibbmusic Re: So where will you fly your first flight from / to? - Giorgio - 08-07-2005 After the first "practice" flights (to get used to the program), when I'll start to get serious I'll fly from LIMJ, Genoa, Italy, the base of Lullaby Sky Flight Services. Of course, after few months I'll conquer the whole world and I'll become so rich that every other flight company will go bankrupt. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!!! ![]() Giorgio Re: So where will you fly your first flight from / to? - JayKae - 08-07-2005 Someone watches a little toooo much Star Trek lol .... j/k Re: So where will you fly your first flight from / to? - kihew - 08-07-2005 I am planning on making a 1939s flight on a DC3 from Newark to Cleveland with several stops on the way (simulating the AM-21 route flown by American Airlines and described in the book Fate is the Hunter by Ernest Gann). Cheers, Rui Re: So where will you fly your first flight from / to? - JayKae - 08-07-2005 Thats cool, I love the DC3 and it is not too expensive either to buy ![]() Re: So where will you fly your first flight from / to? - kihew - 08-07-2005 That was a fast response! Can I look forward to a DC3 loading panel? : ) Thanks, Rui Re: So where will you fly your first flight from / to? - JayKae - 08-07-2005 Yes, there is a" generic" one but you can make one yourself very easily Re: So where will you fly your first flight from / to? - Ryanamur - 08-07-2005 That would be really fun Kihew. I haven't tested multi-hop flights in FsP. You might have to stop and end you flight at each hop and restart a new one (you'd also get more point that way) ![]() Re: So where will you fly your first flight from / to? - jboweruk - 08-07-2005 Certainly out from Livermore California, to? Dunno yet, but I like the sound of that random flight assigner, I'll probably use that in conjunction with my Cessna's that will get used initially. Incidentally, I'm starting up mine as an old favourite from Flight Unlimited... Looking Glass Aviation, these will be parent company (eventually) of Landmark Airlines, And our small planes will all be whatever, the bigger stuff I can already paint, and have some Landmark Liveries already (PMDG 737's and Beech 1900D, F1ATR & DC9, Captainsim 727) Must get round to painting the F1727 as well. I know this though, wherever I go, whatever I'm in, I'm gonna love flying with a real goal in mind, and owning the company with control over it all. Re: So where will you fly your first flight from / to? - JayKae - 08-07-2005 Yes you will, we testers have been enjoying it for a while now and it gets better and better every time you fly !! Re: So where will you fly your first flight from / to? - kihew - 08-07-2005 Yes, I expect to have to divide each hop into a flight. And isn't it great tha we can make loading panels ourselves...: ) Cheers, Rui Re: So where will you fly your first flight from / to? - Ryanamur - 08-07-2005 Jboweruk, When you create your company, make sure that you name it properly... you cannot change it (at least, I wasn't able to) later on. So if you want it to initially be Landmark Airlines, that's what you must start with. Phil |
