can we save or can we not? - explicit8 - 20-07-2007 I tried to save my FsP gave a couple of months ago when i started playing and when I reload the game the flight came up as I saved it but I couldnt resume the fsp game. So I took it for granded that you cant save a fsp game once its on the go. But is it true that we cant? Because I cant find a reason why would that be so. Can we save a Fsp game or not? Re: can we save or can we not? - gronji2004 - 20-07-2007 No, you can't save! Re: can we save or can we not? - michael - 20-07-2007 Heres what to do: When u want to "SAVE" minimize FS by pressing the Windows key with the flag on it and then go into shutdown your PC and put it in HIBERNATION MODE! Your PC will save the current status of your PC and save any current games, windows etc so when you turn back on your PC u can maximize FS and keep flying! If u dont understand what ive just said please ask... ![]() Re: can we save or can we not? - Sakakawea - 20-07-2007 Quote:Because I cant find a reason why would that be so. In real you can't click on "load" after a crash ![]() Re: can we save or can we not? - explicit8 - 20-07-2007 Michael, I understand the procedure you just explained but how can that be useful when -for example I want to save and do something else on my computer and return to my game later? -I got a bitchy roomate here you know and we share the computer which by the way is mine... ![]() And yes sakakawea, I can understand that, so in the same way of thinking , time acceleration should be considered cheating in FsP and therefore excluded from the game and so would be automatic fuel refueling (Ctrl+X). Also, "cheating" is, I feel, what the user of the game defines it to be, not the game creator. After all, if you've paid for the game, its yours to do with as you wish. So, while I also wish there was a save game feature, it appears that for now there are good technical reasons why there isn't one. ![]() Re: can we save or can we not? - michael - 20-07-2007 Quote:explicit8 wrote: er...minimize, log off as u log on as someone else? Re: can we save or can we not? - explicit8 - 21-07-2007 hm that will work? let me try that next time thanks Re: can we save or can we not? - michael - 21-07-2007 well logging off wont but if you use XP choose "Switch user" then login later! Re: can we save or can we not? - explicit8 - 21-07-2007 ok!! Re: can we save or can we not? - roddick1 - 24-07-2007 I think there's plenty of reasons besides cheating as to why a save feature should be enabled. My computer has a tendency to overheat and shut itself down, I've lost about 5 FSP flights in the past few weeks due to this. FS is not a completely glitch-free program, it has a tendency to crash now and then. I had one flight where an AI plane smacked into me in midair, caused a crash, and I know that could actually happen in RL, but come on...and, as mentioned above, I share my computer with other people, and even if you switch to another user FS is still running and hogs the resources. And I believe one of the purposes of FSPax is to provide a reason not to simply leave FS running and go do something else while you fly. Not everybody would use the save feature to "cheat," and if it's possible to include it in the next version, I think it should be. Re: can we save or can we not? - explicit8 - 24-07-2007 As mentioned above, its impossible to retrieve all the data pack after its been saved Dan was clear about this and oh well I can take it, besides theres other problems more serious as you mentioned that spoil the beauty of the game. |
