Cargo IE/ Bush Piloting - jwhak - 07-07-2005 I am really into the Mountain flying and the Nepal area... So my main concern would be things such as cargo and trust me some of them area's If you have passengers would be nothing but screaming.... Can you just haul cargo? and still have all the other options such as engine failures and wear and tear etc? In other words can I just set it for Cargo and still have the authenticy of the program to keep track of wear and tear and If I don't keep up on the maintenance still have failures? Thanks, Re: Cargo IE/ Bush Piloting - JayKae - 07-07-2005 A very short answer on all questions.. yes .. you can Re: Cargo IE/ Bush Piloting - Ryanamur - 07-07-2005 Hi Jwhak, I just did a test flight for you. The quick anwser: YES. I got the bonuses and penalties, the income for the flight and some damage to my aircraft as I took my Caravan up for a quick spin with only cargo on board. Re: Cargo IE/ Bush Piloting - jwhak - 08-07-2005 Thanks!!! I'm Ready for this.... Re: Cargo IE/ Bush Piloting - bushsimmer - 08-07-2005 josh, i too, do a lot of bush (that gives me a snicker sometimes) flying, especially in the himalayas & the rockies & alps. i can tell you if you set up a bush company or seregetti-type venture in fspassengers & you do carry some passengers rest assured you WILL hear them screaming as you take an immediate descent to your airfield from over the mountains. this was one of the things i tested during my later beta of this program. none of my bush / himalayan / mountain trekking companies could make a whole bunch of money carrying pax, so best to start out with cargo, to build up some bux in the coffers and only take pax for the airfields you know you wont have steep descents into an airfield. pretty dang realistic. with fsp mountain flying gets pretty funny & a challenge in more ways than just getting safely on the ground. keep the dirty side down, mate. Re: Cargo IE/ Bush Piloting - Stringfellow - 08-07-2005 I did testing with the float planes carrying both cargo & passengers. I could drop off at shore's edge or drive up on shore, but you'll freighten the passengers with the bump unless you can find a smooth area to drive up on. There's even possible tail damage if the bump is too much. So most of the time I drop off on the bank/shore. To prevent penalty, don't list your destination when you start out. Everyone's going to love this program. ![]() |
