Beechcraft King Air C90B ![]() Re: Mayday Beechcraft King Air C90B Engine 1 flameout - ehunyadi - 26-06-2007 Thanks for your account of this accident! I enjoy reading about people's experiences in flight sim. I'm glad FSP is out; it's the add-on I've been dreaming about for years but never was able to implement due to my lack of coding skills. I'm glad Dan got it so close to what I always thought would be a cool thing to have... and now we have it! Nice screen cap, too! The only in-flight emergency I've had so far was gear that wouldn't retract after takeoff. I declared an emergency but went on to my destination since it was only 53NM away. lol. Re: Mayday Beechcraft King Air C90B Engine 1 flameout - Serviceman - 26-06-2007 Check your payload model against reality. There is no real reason you should not have been able to land this aircraft on one engine. I have landed the MAAM DC-3 and the default King Air after bird strikes, on one engine without a problem. Got a lot of bonus points too, maybe you should grab the JPG and make your own payload model that matches your plane. Look on www. airliners.net for spec's and pics Re: Mayday Beechcraft King Air C90B Engine 1 flameout - Sakakawea - 27-06-2007 vesgrunqaz try one thing (I don't know if it'll work but it's an idea): Go to the kingair's aircraft.cfg. look for section [contact_points]. at the first point (point.0=....), which is the front wheel, go to the forth number (1800 or something like that, maybe lower) which is the "Impact Damage Threshold" in feet per minute. increase that value (maybe double it). it won't have any influence in flying performance. but you will be able to touchdown harder on that wheel. maybe it will also solve the problem of too much pressure by the cargo... Tell me if it works ![]() Cheers Post Edited ( 06-27-07 03:48 ) Re: Mayday Beechcraft King Air C90B Engine 1 flameout - poden - 27-06-2007 I agree; a single-engine landing in the C90 should be completely doable. You can strengthen the gear by editing the aircraft.cfg (contact points). See the default Cessna or other aircraft for a template of the entries for the gear/contact points. Congrats on getting it down, anyway! ![]() Re: Mayday Beechcraft King Air C90B Engine 1 flameout - vesgrunqaz - 27-06-2007 Thanks for the advice all. I modified the cfg file and changed my payload model to only have a rear cargo hold. I can now land this plane with FSP without crashing. |
