Minimum flight distance - Stuarta - 03-01-2007

What's the minimum flight distance for flights without passengers being unhappy?

I'm trying to create small hops for my multiplayer nights and I'm thinking it's about 15 miles but would like to check. Will be flying small
GA either single prop or twin prop.

Thanks

Re: Minimum flight distance - DBE - 03-01-2007

If I remember well, the minimum flight duration is 10 minutes.

Re: Minimum flight distance - Stuarta - 03-01-2007

ok will try and test that theory

Re: Minimum flight distance - poden - 03-01-2007

Yes, I think the minimum duration is 10 minutes. But to make any money (assuming you're trying to make money) off your flights, the only thing that
matters is the direct distance from the takeoff airport to the landing airport.

Re: Minimum flight distance - Stuarta - 03-01-2007

ok. I just know that sometimes if we fly our hops with it, they are annoyed as the flight distance was too short. will experiment with
10mins.

Re: Minimum flight distance - highlander - 04-01-2007

10 minutes?

Oh well, that's my dream of flying Westray -> Papa Westray gone out the window then Wink

Re: Minimum flight distance - PaulAH - 05-01-2007

Why would anyone be annoyed at the flight time being too low? Surely the passengers have some appreciation of just how far away/flight
time their destination is before they decide to get on the plane in the first place!

I similarly never understood PAX being upset if they arrive too early. I've read the reasons posted here in the past, but I just don't agree.

Re: Minimum flight distance - DBE - 05-01-2007

Don't forget that they're "virtual" pax.

Somewhere you have to build in some kind of requirements which could possibly reflect real life in one way or another. If the (Fs)Pax didn't mind
arriving early, there wouldn't be any point in inputing your arrival time..

Re: Minimum flight distance - PaulAH - 05-01-2007

There is... they could be annoyed if you're too late lol

Re: Minimum flight distance - kaleun - 09-01-2007

Second that. They'd be annoyed if you arrive late. Generally pax get happy if they get there early.

Re: Minimum flight distance - DBE - 09-01-2007

Guys: you're missing the point here!

Real pax may be happy, but virtual pax aren't. Wink

Re: Minimum flight distance - poden - 10-01-2007

An aircraft is never late, silly passenger. Nor is it early. It arrives precisely when it means to.

Re: Minimum flight distance - Stuarta - 12-01-2007

Made one last night as 10mins and seemed to work fine. Had to lower aircraft spec to a Cessna 182 but seemed to work ok

Re: Minimum flight distance - XM DUDE - 17-01-2007

I learned that you can set the departure airport and arrival airport as the same, so you can do air tours.

Re: Minimum flight distance - Wally - 17-01-2007

Does the flight distance change when you fly bigger aircraft, or flight time, because I think quite a long while back (when i just got the
program), I flew a flight from Amsterdam to Rotterdam, but then got penalised for the flight being too short. I flew with a Fokker 50 and I
am almost certain the flight lasted longer than 10 minutes...
