I've just read the 'The Thrill of Release' Op-Ed - clut - 27-06-2005

I check flightsim.com regulary for new files and articles, and when Iooked today, I saw a new article titled 'The Thrill of Release'.

I clicked, I read, and just a quarter of the way through I was thinking, "this hums a little of FSPassengers, I wonder if that's what inspired
the author?" . Lo and behold, that is exactly what inspired the author, who also happens to be a beta tester here, so to chip Barber,
Thanks for writing the article, it was a good read, but in a way it compounds the problem Wink

I know your article was about waiting eagerly for the next add on, but every time I read something about FSPassengers, I become that
little more eager... including your article Wink With FSP I fall into the category of checking a few times a day, and every time a beta tester
comes on the forums and exclaims how good it is, I get that little bit closer to bursting.

I just thought it highlighted the effect that FSP is going to have on the FS world. Just a small way through reading your article i was already
thinking about FSP, and wondering if that's what you were talking about... and true enough, it was.

Roll on Release!!!

You are most welcome!

Oh, I absolutely had FsP in mind while writing that! But I must admit, there have been others in the past, a couple I'm waiting on now, and
I can guarantee I'll be pacing the floor like an expectant father (something I've done more than once) on some as-yet unannounced
project. I figured this is a phenomenon that has GOT to be consistent with most if not all of us.

Well, I know it's been said, but truly, FsP truly means you're no longer alone in your aircraft. I like to use it with Flight Deck Companion
and FS2Crew. That really gives you all dimensions. I also never fly without Voice Buddy. I've got it set up so that all I need to do is
speak "Ground Departure" and FsP will (using Voice Buddy) autotune to my set of 60 wav files recorded from Ground Departure
frequencies... the real ones. There are six other frequencies for Tower Departure, Departure, Enroute, Approach, Approach Tower and
Ground Arrival. Now, understand this capability is contingent on several products, not just FsP. But, I just wanted you to be
aware of what is possible!

Glad to hear you're one of us... and glad you enjoyed the article! Top

Chip

Hey Chip, methinks you know me too well friend. lol

Read it from start to fin today and could see so much of myself in there, specially the bit about knowing my card number off pat. lol

Good article, Chip!! It's ironic that the day your article came out on Flightsim.com, a video I did for our squadron's reunion last weekend made it
onto the Flightsim Cineplex front page. Normally I wouldn't be plugging my own material in the midst of congratulating you on yours, but I feel it's
time to say thanks to the men and women who fought back then AND are fighting now. It was my privilege to fly with some of them, and I wished like
hell I could have made the reunion in San Diego last weekend, but several obligations got in the way. Most who have seen this video are people who've
had some relationship to the cruises that we were on, and now I felt that it was time to share this with you all -- and the rest of the flight sim
community. Sorry for the shameful plug, but given our past conversations I didn't think you'd mind at all! Wink

Mind? Not at all!

Thanks all for the kind words. We were in the middle of a graduation party for my daughter, and the idea sort of jumped at me. I just had
to take a break from the festivities to write that down...

It means a lot to me all of your feedback. I'm new to this writing thing, and it can be pretty nerve-wracking putting yourself out there for
public scrutiny. Thanks for giving me incentive to keep going, my friends!
