V-Speeds - Mick - 25-06-2005

Hello!

I Would like to know if there are any plannings to do somthing like connecting pax and fuel load to v-speed callouts and maybe trim settings for the
choosen aircraft.

I could imagine somthing like you set pax and fuel load and FSP gives you the corresponding vspeeds (according to the runway conditions) and the trim
settings to get the bird properly airborn.

Any plannings?

Greetings

Mick!

Mick,
V-Speeds are based on many conditions. They simply can't be determined from the number of PAX, and weight of the fuel. Some
factors affecting v-speeds are:

- Atmospheric (weather) conditions

- Runway type/available length

- Weight of the aircraft

- Various aircraft flight control settings at takeoff (trim, flaps)

Depending on the type of aircraft you're flying v-speeds will vary greatly. They aren't set speeds that are the same for each and every flight
in the same aircraft either. If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

The PMDG and LDS FMC will calculate the V speeds for you providing sufficient data is entered in the system. That includes the gross
weight of the plane which can be obtained via the fuel/payload menu in FS.

Where the fun starts is something like the Captain Sim 727 which I'm currently trying to master. Even the autopilot is very basic (no
autothrottle) and I've already messed up two landings because I didn't maintain the VRef on approach (which is higher than you might
think compared to other aircraft of a similar weight).

Re: V-Speeds - DanSteph - 26-06-2005

after having loaded your aircraft you have this dialog that summarise all the aircrafts weight
and that you can print
(you can disable this dialog if you don't want to have it after each load)

Warning this is an outdated image of the manifest
