I'm sure everyone was sitting around putting off their own personal lives and concerns while worrying about my specific FSP piloting career. Well, you
can go back to all those things as I finally got promoted to Commercial Pilot (c1) after an amazingly low 21 flights. (Shhhhh, that's how I decided to
phrase it to myself to avoid jumping out of any of the flights mid-flight) On the plus side c2 will likely be almost immediately, or only an
incredibly small 20 or so flights away.

Yup, i took the day off work yesterday, worrying about when you would finally reach C1 Smile So its ok for me to go back today? Smile

Hahahah. I was wondering if Congress was discussing the option of a national holiday WEEK but they were too busy talking about gay marriage to get
around to it. So, yes, it's okay to go back tomorrow.

You were trying for C1? lol

Seriously, congrats!

You never did that for me! Rant Sad

Re: Promotion! - Sovek - 18-07-2006

21???? dang thats alot of flights, I have a little over 30 and Im almost to C8 I think

Re: Promotion! - Agrajag - 18-07-2006

I should point out that not one of my flights is more than 70 minutes. I like short turbo-prop flights and with a family, etc., my time is limited for
now.

Thus it's a LOT of short-little flights but I also learned much of FSP the HARD way and FSP had to teach ME several things about the right way to do
things in FS9 that I'd never bothered with before.

Re: Promotion! - highlander - 18-07-2006

FsP is a learning experience indeed; I didn't know about lights and speed penalties before purchasing!

I also know what it's like trying to become a major airline pilot, but with family... Smile

I've had the product since Christmas last year, and have only ranked up to C8. I started in career mode, so I was only allowed to fly ickle Cessnas.
Nowadays I'm happily cruising around Indonesia in my B1900C, while I save up for my Embraer ERJ-135.

Re: Promotion! - Dutch64 - 18-07-2006

lol Too late, different project nowSmile

Re: Promotion! - poden - 18-07-2006

Way to go! Beer

Yeah, getting started can be difficult with all those unexpected (and sometimes unwarranted) penalties hitting you. I'm pretty much in the same
situation, having family responsibilities, etc.

What planes have you been flying so far?

Re: Promotion! - Agrajag - 18-07-2006

I'm not one to want to fly different planes so career mode isn't for me. I have absolutely no interest in flying a big jet so that just wasn't going
to work out. I only fly my PSS Dash-8 in Economy mode. I get promotions but get to choose the planes I want to fly. I MAY try out the ATR-72 I own if
I can ever figure out how to actually start it up. (I'm like 0 for 20 so far in my attempts)

I also hope to get the Saab 340 if that project finishes this year as they swear it finally will.

Re: Promotion! - Dutch64 - 18-07-2006

Figure the atr out, it's one of the best modelled turbo props out there, you will love it Wink

Re: Promotion! - Agrajag - 19-07-2006

I think I might benefit from e-mailing them and buying a printed manual. I just fall asleep reading the PDF. If I could get a concise checklist that
might help too. I'll have to look around. I have flown it a bit and it's quite a nice feel. I just hate starting already powered up.
