Take off only where landed - amenofiiv - 20-06-2006 Hello everyone! I've read some time ago (I think when Dan was programming FsP) that he had in mind to make a feature that allows the pilot to take off only by the airport in which the pilot is landed... I hope you understand my english! I don't know is this feature had been completed... I've searched somewhere in the game and on the forum but I haven't found nothing. If someone knows something about that i'll be very happy! Thanks again! ![]() Vittorio Re: Take off only where landed - ILikePlanes - 21-06-2006 I think I remember somthin like that? But I don't think it is a feature in the game. You don't really need a feature to do that just remmeber what airport you landed at then next time you fly takeoff there Re: Take off only where landed - Valoran - 21-06-2006 I save my game at the end of every flight and name it after the current aircraft or pilot I'm using. I shoot the time ahead one hour to simulate fueling, pasengers, freight, pilot taking a leak, etc... It works the same as a "feature" imho. Interesting way of finding out if Dan's working on an update. ![]() Re: Take off only where landed - kingfisher-blue - 21-06-2006 This is something I have been doing for a while. I have at the moment 5 aircraft, Cessna, Beechbaron, Kingair 350 and 2 Learjets. My kingaire is at Lannion in France, Cessna is in Blackpool, Barron is at Glasgow and 2 Learjets are at Newcastle. I am at this time at Lannion in France with the Kingaire, if I wanted to fly the Baron I would have to first fly back to Glasgow or back to Newcastle if I wanted the Learjet. Its a pain having to keep track but its worth it. Something else I always do after each flight is copy my FSP Database folder to a floppy disc. I have over 20 flights on one floppy at the moment, but I can fall back to any point at any time. If anyone has any more ideas please list them so they could be used by other FSP users. Cheers, and all the best you FSP fanatics, kingfisher-blue Re: Take off only where landed - jboweruk - 21-06-2006 As a member of Air Source that always tracks where I landed, so no problem for me. It's a good site too as you can read about the city you are in. And because it caters for something like 900 airlines worldwide you have plenty of choice of flights. http://www.airsource.us and FSPax fits in beautifully. Re: Take off only where landed - pegase - 21-06-2006 Quote:a feature that allows the pilot to take off only by the airport in which the pilot is landed... Nice but ![]() ![]() Well, Vittorio, excuse me for my stupid joke... In fact I like doing that way and almost always start from my previous arrival. But just "almost" because if the scenery around is crap or afcad a bit wrong making my plane sinking in a liquid taxiway or crash into an invisible building, I will carefully "forget" this destination/departure Any virtual pilot develops a personnal scenario. Also some are flying within virtual airlines which assign flights regardless of where the pilot is supposed to be. So, perhaps it is better to keep FsP flexible. Specific congrats to you Kingfisher Quote:I am at this time at I have it difficult enough to find where I left my keys, pen, glasses etc.. Should I have to know and go where I left the plane I want to fly... ![]() I assume that a virtual colleague flew the plane where I am. this solution works fine in Flight Simming but... unfortunately not for the keys ![]() Re: Take off only where landed - eazy - 21-06-2006 Quote:pegase wrote:You definitely need an upgrade, Pierre. - Software, hardware, everything! ![]() And, of course, you need FSX. It will find your keys in no time ... ![]() Re: Take off only where landed - poden - 21-06-2006 Yeah, its not really necessary; most people that would use the feature already do it this way. Re: Take off only where landed - amenofiiv - 21-06-2006 hi Poden! obviously you had to "forget" such thinks of crashes! ![]() I would like to ask to jobewurk if the link he wrote is up-to-date, i have a strange site if i clik over... http://www.shaklee.net/macksimumperformance/prodAir I guess that would be better to save flights and reload them like does Valoran! :D Vittorio Re: Take off only where landed - jboweruk - 22-06-2006 Oops sorry http://www.air-source.us If you request to be assigned a flight they have updated it so that you now get offered a flight from your current airport or none at all. Reminds me of scheduling ad hoc flights with Airline Tycoon! Now, where will my 757-300 be next wednesday at 1600? ![]() Re: Take off only where landed - hmdomingos - 11-08-2006 Hello to all I agree with the above postings... i do that way too, landing in one airport and taking off from the same, but for FSpassenger purposes I believe it makes no sense such a rigid rule because, like in real world, one can ferry an aircraft with no passengers or cargo. Ex.: I landed in Amsterdam to drop passengers, took off to Frankfurt to pick passengers, and took off again... Why to force the Amsterdam-Frankfurt leg in FSPassengers, if in real world the airplane would be empty with the exception of crew?? |
