Takeoff delays - ariccsr - 30-05-2006

Hello everyone. Today I made a flight leaving Las Vegas, NV KLAS. I went to me assigned runway to take off and to my surprise I was
number 5 out of 12 to take off. I sat on the ground for 3o minutes until ATC had brought a few airborne birds in and got the ones in front
of me off. So has anyone else had an experience like this at any airport around the world? I think the only other airport that I've been to
and I had a delay like this was at London's Heathrow EGLL.

Happy Landings
Aric

yeah its a pain in the ar$e, i wanted RC4 but im not too sure.....

Re: Takeoff delays - captain_crunch - 30-05-2006

Yeah, it happens at the most of the major airports if you have your AI traffic slider set to 40% or more. Paris CDG is a good one, I've found
myself 6th and even 7th to go on several occasions wow

Re: Takeoff delays - Paulo Laport - 30-05-2006

Gatwick to Dublin is a nightmare !

The flight is the last thing to be preocupated.

For short flights I add in my log at least 30' of ground delays.... Is easy to give away time when approaching instead doing speedy
manoeuvres.

Sometimes when ILS landing at Fiumicino (Rome) or Linate (Milan) every thing is under control, but sudently there's a lazy airplane taxing
on the runway and the tower tells you to go.around...

Real or virtual situations, there's no difference... The end of both is our nerves !

Enter the runway a taxiway earlier, and takeoff from there (make sure the runway is long enough from that point) Just ask clearance and
you'll be the first for takeoff.

EGLL, or EDDF is busy

Re: Takeoff delays - poden - 30-05-2006

Are you using the default AI?

Re: Takeoff delays - Drew - 30-05-2006

press pause
change time accel to 16,
change back to normal
unpause

they should be all gone Wink

Its real world stuff at KLAX!

Monarch airline pilot was spitting bricks and moaning over tannoy about time on apron and waiting to T/O using gentle phrases such
as "bloddy ridiculous' " I will need a top up if this goes on..." "I mean we are flying to Gatwick LONDON!" etc etc. ON eventual T/O the 767
was turning and climbing at very sharp angles and I can just imagine language in cockpit!!!

Crazy airport!

Re: Takeoff delays - Airliner - 31-05-2006

I fly out of KBOS a lot and with 100% PAI traffic on, it can get ugly. I was sitting in line for runway 33L for a loooong time! First, I was
something like 12th in line and also had a number of turboprops coming in - American Eagle, US Airways Express, etc. It must have
been one of those famous NW wind days, otherwise the parallels would have been open for simultaneous ops. AISmooth doesn't help
much on the ground. Smile

I can just imagine if airplanes had horns! (Ouch!) lol

Re: Takeoff delays - Pablo0007 - 31-05-2006

I have MyTraffic 2004 with the Ai 20% only at Heathrow. Today I had to change it to 14 as there were too many aircraft at the gates and
also it was 4am. EGLL to KJFK. only had to wait for 2 aircraft in fround. Ohare was different with 20 % . 18 aircraft at the same time as I
was, Taxiing to Rwy 32L 10 minute wait after changing to 15%

Re: Takeoff delays - Joeflyer - 31-05-2006

I have MyTraffic 2006 set at 49% and will reduce it for sure. Sometimes I can be sitting at the hold line for 15-20 mins. waiting for other
traffic to land before getting clearance to take off out of KMEM....especially during IFR departures.

By the way, DREW, doing what you suggested(time acceleration to remove the AI traffic), would that not cause a penalty for time
acceleration??

Re: Takeoff delays - Julian192001 - 31-05-2006

JFK in the morning is a major pain in a$$. Atleast 7 planes taxing for takeoff at the same time you see about 6 planes ready to land at jfk.

Re: Takeoff delays - Joeflyer - 31-05-2006

Yep, that's how it is in the real world of flying...except JFK usually has much more than that on any given day Big Grin

no because your not unpausing while in time accel Wink, just switching to x16, then back to normal while paused
