To declare or not to declare.... - oldmcgroin - 02-05-2006

Hi there,
I've just encountered my first problem while using FSPax. I bought rickety 7000hr old 737 and on my first flight, the flaps have gone
funny on my approach. If i open them to 1 degree they go to 15 degrees, if i open them to 2 degrees they retract. Now after further
messing around with them to try and get them to open properly they just open fully whatever setting i put them on. (Thats quite cool btw)
Anyway i'm just wondering if i should declare an emergency or not? I can land safely with full flaps but i don't want to get penalised for not
declaring an emergency.

Also are there any guidelines on when to declare and when its not worth declaring emergencies or does every little thing need to be
declared.

Thanks.

every 'little' FsP related problem needs to be called an emergency, but i doubt this is an FsP emergency.

Sounds more like the flaps config in your aircraft.cfg is not correct. What plane it is? Freeware, payware?

It is pmdg. I didn't delare an emergency and landed with full flaps but it gave me credit for landing the plane with a problem so i think it
was fsp. The co pilot said something but i didn't quite hear him and i only realised the problem when i tried to lower the flaps and with
one degree set the flaps moved to 16.9 degrees. With 2 degrees they went fully down. cost me over 800,000 to fix
