Voiceproblems - Zeder - 05-04-2006 Hello, I first opened this thread in FSP'Support', but I got no helpful answer or hints. ![]() Each time, if I start FS9 > FSP the voices are very deep, like a singer having a low voice. Here is the exact desription: - start fs9, load a flight, start FSP - voice (of a man) very deep >> switch to window (fs9 and fsp are still running !!) - doubleklick on a .wav file in \fspassengers\sound directory - sometime sounds deep as well >> close application >> then click same .wav file > 'open with' windows media player and I disable 'open all files with .wav extension' as well. >>>>> sound is OK !!!!! - close application and switch back to fs9/fsp Now all voices (of womans) sounds correct. Everytime if I use fs9/fsp same procedure ![]() I then reinstalled FSP, same issues. Does anybody know this problem?? Many thanks in advance Regards Ruedi Re: Voiceproblems - Dutch64 - 05-04-2006 what soundcard do you use? Maybe any of those "sound enhancements effects" active? Re: Voiceproblems - Zeder - 05-04-2006 Hi Dutch64, I use VIA AC'97 Enhanced Audio Controller and now I remember me that I was requested to install a driver for this soundcard, after reinstalling WinXP. Maybe the wrong one ??? Regards Ruedi Re: Voiceproblems - Dutch64 - 05-04-2006 Sometimes these drivers come with special "spatial" effects etc. Make sure all settings are default. Re: Voiceproblems - Zeder - 06-04-2006 Hi Dutch64, I have checked all properities, seems to be set on default. But the driver software are packed as zip file > with a 'setup.exe' and I have run this setup for installation. I have downloaded different .zip files, all for VIA AC'97 and want to try with a different package of them. You will get news tomorrow. Post Edited ( 04-06-06 18:05 ) Re: Voiceproblems - Zeder - 12-04-2006 Hi, Problem still occurs. I have reinstalled VIA AC'97 setup and I'm using RealPlayer, no success. Everytime if I started FSP, voice sounds deep and slow , playing a .wav file with RealPlayer sounds fine > back to FSP > voices are ok. Re: Voiceproblems - RCB - 12-04-2006 What soundpackage were you using for your aircraft ? I had the same problem with the sgamd90-v2500 soundpack , when i switched to the outside view , the sounds of atc and fsp slowed down. Even the sounds in windows slowed down ! I didn't have that problem before with other soundpacks when switching to outside views during flight , so it doesn't seem fsp-related. Re: Voiceproblems - Zeder - 13-04-2006 Hi RCB, I had a look in FS9/Aircraft directory. I'm using Saab 340 Model, as described in aircraft.cfg: ********************************************** * Freeware Flight Group FSDS2 Saab 340 series * ********************************************** The sound.cfg contains the link to beech_king_air350 sound. But in this directory are only files with background noise, like 'Door opening', 'Gear going down' >> only noise, no spoken text !!!!! Few minutes ago, I have just tried with: King_Air_350, same error, Cessna Skyxxx same error. Could you tell me, what do you exactly mean with 'soundpack' and where I could find they ? Maybe under AVSIM ?? Re: Voiceproblems - RCB - 15-04-2006 Hi Ruedi, There are a lot of soundpacks on Avsim and Flightsim.com. Look up the msfs2004 sound section , after you type in saab340 en click search .Otherwise you can also look for the engine type found usually in the general section of the aircraft.config file. But it is strange it happens with all the aircraft your flying. Does it happen when you are in the cockpit or just when you are flying and switch to the spotplaneview ? To me it happened only once.( i did get a fatal error message ,when i closed down Flightsimulator) so it may be an issue with Windows and the soundcard . Have a nice Easter Weekend, Regards Rex. Re: Voiceproblems - Zeder - 16-04-2006 Hi, I made some tests with this results: Error occurs as described. But as soon I started any .wav file stored on my PC with Realplayer, sounds and voices in FS9/FSP are OK. So I guess, there could be a problem with links or registry: Important: I had to reinstall WinXP after an error on my PC; FS9 is installed on a separate Diskpartition. Before reinstall XP, FS9 drivename was F: , after reinstall XP, FS9 drivename is now E: . Any ideas?? |
