oil quantity - velocitized - 22-03-2006 hi there all, I am currently doing a flight from detroit to orlando upon reaching cruise i have now noticed that my right engine is less half a gallon of oil. is this something i should declare an emergency for? or should i simply divert and land safely? any have this happen? any thoughts? I have searched the forums and found all kinds of stuff about oil pressure, and engine temprature but nothing really about oil leaks thanks in advance Andrew Re: oil quantity - runibl - 22-03-2006 Hmm, i never had an oil leak before. Don't know if oil leak is implemented in FsP. It could be plane related, what plane are you flying? Re: oil quantity - velocitized - 22-03-2006 flying the kittyhawk 732, thanks for the quick reply Re: oil quantity - runibl - 22-03-2006 No problem. Hmm, i'm not familiar with the kittyhawk. Does the plane come with built in failure settings? if so check if all failures are turned off. Also check the FS9 failures, and make sure it's off. It could also be nothing, i have flown some planes with lower oil and hydraulics on one side or the other. So check if the amount of oil is stable at that value, if not and it's reducing. Then you might have a problem. I propably would continue on route until FsP copilot says there is something wrong, and only then declare an emergency. Otherwise you might get penalty for declaring a false emergency. Re: oil quantity - velocitized - 22-03-2006 thanks for your help. the quantity seems stable so i will continue as planned. WOO HOOO day on the beach for me tomorrow! :P Re: oil quantity - runibl - 22-03-2006 Good luck. |
