FSP crashes PS9 - twowheel - 14-05-2021

HI
I've just done a new installation of FS9 on a new PC and I've also installed the latest version of FSPax, dated 2011-01-07. Now FSP is giving me problems when I want to load a plane and start a flight: in short, it's either freezing the sim while I'm managing the fuel or crashing the sim. It even froze when I entered my purchase key.

I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it three times and it's still the same.

Any ideas?
Thomas

Hi Thomas,

You can refer to this FAQ in case you using Win 10:

Have you tried running Fs9 in a different compatibility mode?

Hello again
I've found an old Windows XP PC which is good and clean and fresh and only used for FS9. I've only installed FS9 and FS9-related addons. FS9 runs fine and so does FSP but sometimes FSP bombs out shortly after take-off with an error message: "Wrong Authorisation Aborting - Please Buy FSPassengers".

Sometimes it runs through to the end of the flight without a hitch. This error isn't related to a particular plane or a particular route.

What should I be looking at?

regards
Thomas

PS: I should mention the obvious: I bought FSP way back in 2004/5 and of course I have entered the key, as I have whenever I've re-installed it in the past.

Have you saved the database in a safe location? Uninstall FsP, reboot the XP pc and then re-install. Reboot again just to be sure. Once you put in your serial code, you can try a FsP flight before replacing the new database with the one you saved....so you won't lose your previous flights and/or company progress.

Sorry for the delay in responding!
