Lease & Depreciation? - Tanz - 01-06-2005

Hi Dan,

I know we'll be able to buy aircrafts...but also to sell them? What about the lease or lease-purchase?
I know it's kind a headache...sorry for that!
I suggest this, because in reality, most of Charter or medium airlines work a lot with leasing companies...
And if you buy an aircraft don't forget that there are some depreciation rules that you have to apply...I have the figures if you're interested...

Cheers

Re: Lease & Depreciation? - DanSteph - 01-06-2005

of course you can't sell your aircraft at the same price you bought it, and of course
the selling price is based on the hours of flights and also the state...

in brief if you plan to gain a lot of money while selling a ruin,
you may be deceived Smile

Also there is a litle database of aircraft production, for example you can't buy a
brand new DC3 (1946) or a 747-100 (1986)

about lease purchase, sorry... complex financial plan is not implemented in FsP.
I personnaly don't have any fun in real life dealing with such financial things I don't think
it would be fun also in FsP...
you have money ? you buy, you don't have ? you don't, that remain simple as in the
good 'ol time..

Simple!!?!?

Dan, FSP (btw - why do you write FsP?) is so elaborate there's no space for the word 'simple'! Smile

I remember in FS2k2 i used FSMaintenance. I'm sure most of the visitors of this forum have used it - a kind of an 'ancestor' to FSP. There
were two variables: loosing money due to your mistakes and earning money in accordance with the length of the fligth. And that was it!
Still... only that was enough to offer a whole new level ov enjoyment; I wanted to try a round the world trip while trying to remain solvent.
From Mediterranean up to the northern Europe over Greenland down the N.America via Caribes and further down to Chile. I barely
managed to be 'above the positive zero' that far....
But than came EL ALTO! (beta testers, It would be very interesting to see how profficient you are in landing a jet at 14 000 ft! So if you run
out of ideas where to fly...)
Anyway, I broke my landing gear not knowing how to properly land in such a thin air and had to make a loan. One had to return the loan
within the next 5 flights.(there was nothing you could choose between) The problem was I had only ocean between me and French
Polynesia. The only stop was Robison Crusoe and San Felix islands. But-of course- as soon as I landed, the bank wanted its money (I
didn't manage to earn) and the RTW trip was finished! Sunk

The point is: if that 'ancient', basic program offered me enough happenings and motivation to remember such things in detail years
afterward...................

.....and yet you use the 's' word in conjunction with FSP!!!
Wink

Ah, I can answer this one Smile

It come certainly from the common way programmers write variable, each start of a word
is capitalised ...

example: iDangerousAirportLastTimeCheckedFlightArea (it's not the longest variable in FsP)

So "Fs" for Fs2004 and "P" for Passengers...

I know there is some longer but I would have to search trough the 181 source to find it again... Wink
