Angry!!!! - darrenthe747 - 27-02-2006 Ok, just bought fspassengers and i love it. today however, i made a great flight from EDDF - KSFO as United 901 in a 744. What a fantastic` flight it was. well 11 hours later I was making my approach into KSFO, and due to the unusual winds here tonight we were using the eastern ops, which meant i had to fly over CCR as my transition for the 19L rwy. I had kept pax satisfaction to 100%. So here i am flying over Concord, California, when all of a sudden shots start getting fired at my 747. i'll be damned if i'm going to let an 11 hour flight go to hell so i had to abort my fspassengers flight. 11 hours of pampering passengers for NOTHING!!!! Why the hell doesn't the registration of the product fix the flippin war zones to reflect reality?? Total b.s. in my opinion. Darren Re: Angry!!!! - ivo - 27-02-2006 You can disable the war zones if you like. Re: Angry!!!! - darrenthe747 - 27-02-2006 i know i can. but the default should NOT be to have guns shooting off in northern california. and now i just tried to finish my flight without fspassengers and my damn flaps wont extend due to the damage sustained from the gunfire. ridiculous. i am so frustrated right now. 11 hour flight ruined for a b.s. reason. Re: Angry!!!! - GeoBauG - 27-02-2006 If you aborted the flight as you said, the damage wouldn't be applied to the aircraft. If the flaps are damaged, it's not from the gunfire in that flight. You may have damaged them in another flight without realizing it. G Re: Angry!!!! - JayKae - 27-02-2006 The default is there for the demo. People that download the demo need to be able to experience the warzone as such, sorry if it inconvenienced you. Re: Angry!!!! - Anastasios - 27-02-2006 I can understand you're angry, but as Jaykae just explained. That was necessary for the demo version. One man made this program, so I suppose you can understand the situation, right? Tasos. Re: Angry!!!! - AKLupine - 27-02-2006 Not to sound like too big a jerk, but the time it took you to write the "complaint" you could have edited the CCR area so that you only het mugged, not shot. As for cancling SSPax, you should have kept it going. Think of all those bonus points you could have had! ![]() Re: Angry!!!! - DBE - 27-02-2006 I suspect that the point Darren is trying to make is that he was caught unaware of the war zone. Either he knew about it from the demo and expected it to become disabled once he entered his registration key, or wasn't aware at all. ..And would probably have reacted differently if he was just completing a 50 min leg. ![]() Re: Angry!!!! - SaVas - 27-02-2006 Oh just wait... Ive lost several long flights due to FS9 crashes, but then again I have more add-ons then most. I would attribute it to being new to FsP, but dont worry, we are here to help with various 'issues' that folks might come across that are easily fixed. Re: Angry!!!! - darrenthe747 - 27-02-2006 OK it's the next morning now so i'm not heated anymore. Quote:Not to sound like too big a jerk, but the time it took you to write the "complaint" you could have edited the CCR area so that you only AKLupine, as DBE pojnted out, had it been a 50 minute leg, no big deal... but it was a long haul 11 hour flight and when you're 4 minutes from touchdown... oh i was just so frustarted!! so i know it would only take 30 seconds to change it in the config file, but at that moment i was jsut so irritated that i was SO close to touchdown and it all went to hell in a handbasket. I will frankly admit now that coming on the forum served no other purpose than to vent... but hey, maybe i should have read the instructions or something crazy like that ![]() Re: Angry!!!! - Jetflyer - 27-02-2006 We've all had these inconveniences to deal with. I was shot done in my P40 but of course that was only a 50 minute flight so I wasn't too bothered. Other things will happen in the future too, like some planes for example might get certain penalties when others dont. That's led to me having done a 5 hour flight and getting 1104 penalty point when it wasn't my fault. FSPassengers is a useful tool in the long run recording all those flights etc.. and it's obviously interesting so don't give up on it. Re: Angry!!!! - darrenthe747 - 27-02-2006 yes, this brings back some fond memories indeed! once (long before FS passengers) I was flying a KSFO - VHHH and when I was on short final (like 15 seconds from touchdown) i had a crash to desktop. ohhh that's frustrating when that happens! Re: Angry!!!! - Ryanamur - 27-02-2006 Hi Darren, Yes, that's frustrating. Here's what you should do: 1- Open the dangerous.cfg databse found in ...\fspassengers\config 2- Delete this line in the file : KCCR demo war area;fail=0;war=100;lon=-122.05967;lat=37.984931;range=10; 3- Save the file You'll never be bottered by it again. Phil Re: Angry!!!! - highlander - 28-02-2006 I got caught out by this, too... I had the demo for a couple of months, and took the war zone out. However, when I bought and installed the CD-version of the product, the demo war zone was reinstalled, and I didn't realise it! So I got shot to bits on an ILS approach into KSFO. Wasn't well impressed with that. Why is the demo warzone included on the full product CD? Would it be possible to add an option to the Demo installer which requires the user to choose whether they want the KCCR demo warzone to be included or not? Re: Angry!!!! - Galih Prasetya - 28-02-2006 can anyone make a list which lines should be deleted to make it realistic? ![]() |
