CoG in A320 Family - pbandpickleboy - 27-05-2017

Hey folks. So I previously had issues with the nose suddenly pitching down when I disconnected the AP. I came to realize this was entirely my fault and I was setting the CoG too far forward. I've eliminated this problem in all aircraft but the A320 family. Regardless of whether the CoG is a little forward, centered, or a little aft the nose still pitches down when I disconnect the AP. Any insight into a possible solution would be appreciated. Thanks

Could be the controller you use may not be properly centered when the AP is disconnected, or the AP had trimmed the nose down a bit too much during the approach...depending on the conditions at the time.

It happened again today with the needle towards the aft of the aircraft when loading. The number on the next page was around 55%. Controller appears to be working well, but I calibrated to be safe

55% CG seems too high. Are you using a good payload model?? You can check the payload model to see if the CG is good inside of the payload model editor.

I've been using the default payload model. The payload editor has Cg Pos= -400.00 and says Good CG.

I haven't flown an A320 in a while, but tomorrow I'll be in an A319. I downloaded a payload model for Alitalia from the "More Downloads" page. It shows a CG of 45.00 and says Good CG. I'll check back afterwards with how it went.

Same result. At this point I'm guessing it's an issue with the aircraft model. Could someone confirm this?
